Where in town can you get tie-down hooks?
I'm looking for something like this:

I think R&E Fasteners on Freeport can get stuff like that...

Or better yet, try FleetPride down on Glendale accross from Summit Racing. Ask for Rich and tell him I sent you down there...He can get pretty much anything.

Pat, where are you going to mount those cleets? on the trailer frame?

Either that or we can get scott to sit in it to help keep the car from moving. If the car starts to roll back, he'll gas it forwards. If it starts to slide forward, he can pop it in reverse.

Wow! Now that's a pretty nice rig!! Good Work!

Those hook into the car's frame and you attach the chain / strap to them.

Sweet.

What is FleetPride's ph #? I tried two trailer dealers, Fastenal, R&E, Napa, Grainger, Trailer Wholesale, Harbor Freight, TPE, Summit Racing and about four other places. Every one of them looked at me like I was stupid when I showed them a picture of the R hook.

Pat,
Rich is the man at Fleetpride...331-0344 I would suggest that you print out that picture and take it down there, and see if he can match it up with anything.

You might be better off with the soft straps that go through the wheels than those if you don't have 4 good tie down points on the car itself. Due to suspension compression, any sprung point will move and or get slack in it, especially in the front under braking. Last thing you want is one of those cleats getting loose enough to come out on a bump.

Tying down a car is tricky. I've done it quite a number of times now, and I still double check it after a mile or two and almost always find a strap that has loosened in some manner.

Wheel tie downs are cool, but you have to be careful with them as well because if you winch on them to hard, you can mess up your alignment, or bend suspension bits....

Awesome Matt:

Nice color matching. Are the fenders on the trailer painted to match?

Now you need some oversized SECCS stickers!

I know I'm a bit late to the party, but you can get those from www.awdirect.com . I actually have their catalog in the trunk of my car if you need a P/N.
