The transition he hit was brutally flat, but it was still a transition...which helped "cushion" his fall. :cringe:

Just like racing, its all about setup. Once you're in it, you're in it and there ain't much you can do. So, if the guide loses the oar mid-rapid, its not really the end of the world.

nicks right the entry is the most important part. some rapids have mid-rapid moves that can make or break you as well but for the most part the paddle team does 95% of the work and the guid just hangs on.
