Keeping this thead going:

I am getting my wisdom teeth pulled on the 29th. Good in the fact that I won't have constant headaches, Bad in the fact that its going to suck getting them pulled. Of well...it needs to be done.

Kevin M 2004-06-16 12:58 PM

I'm unwilling to read through all 200 posts to see for sure, but am I the first one to point out the typo in the preeminent thread on the board?

It's not so bad as long as you don't get a dry socket like I did.

Here's some tips:

#1 - Vicoden is your friend... puts the pain down now... although you shouldn't need it unless you get a dry socket.

#2 - The day after isn't bad at all, your body hasn't realized there's been any trauma yet. So do what I did, and go to Laguna Seca to check out the Skip Barber racing school the day after like I did. ;)

#3 - The second day after is when the swelling will kick your ass. Make sure ice is available. (Ice is not available in the Laguna Seca paddock. :()

#4 - The 3rd day after is when the dry socket kicks in and that shit hurts. Realize that it shouldn't hurt that much! Really, having your wisdom teeth pulled isn't that bad... if it hurts to the point that it's bothing you, chances are something's wrong. I went to back to the dentist a week after the surgery and they crammed a clove in the dry socket and in 5 minutes the world was once again a happy place.

#5 - Get all 4 pulled at once, and make sure they use the knock-out gas. You start counting backwards and the next thing you know you're waking up and everything's done. If only all unpleasent situations worked that way!

#6 - There is no #6 (or spoon)

#7 - You can hit on the nurses shortly after the procedure but they probably won't respond to a babbling, drooling, retard... especially if that's how you acted shortly before the procedure as well. :P

#8 - ????

#9 - Profit!

I only have 3 :D

Also, they said they were going to use a IV to knock me out. Do I just request the gas or something?

I just realized how redundant that statement is, I just realized.

Also, hard-to-damage carbon fiber is hard to damage because of its ability to resist being damaged.

You'll be really stoned if you ask for gas AND they give you an IV ..

That's what I got. A little gas to loosen you up, then the IV takes over and *BAM* you're under!

Didn't you see that issue of playboy?

I dunno, though. I've attempted to date a few coffee haus chicks before, and they are all a little nutty. Too much caffeine I think :P

That's so funny, starbucks girls may also be dental hygienists -- from pg. 4 of this thread (when I saw a car w/relevant license plate frame at Starbucks on McCarren):

----------
I still think that license plate was perfect, the one I saw at Starbucks, "Accept No Substitutes ..... Licensed Dental Hygienist"

LetItRev 2004-06-16 04:31 PM

Too much caffeine might be good for certain activities!!

JC 2004-06-16 05:00 PM

So I just got back from the dentist's office. My dental hygenist is NOT hot. Hell if I could stop myself from flirting with her though. Fuck you Scott and screw this thread. Thankfully she told me I was a wacko and I got handed off to the doctor. :P

HotHygiene 2004-06-23 05:16 PM

Is this thread about me! I'm so flattered! Scott, I had no idea you had these feeling towards me...

Everyone else is just jealous, don't mind them...

Why don't you PM me and I can come over and floss your teeth.

MikeSTI 2004-06-24 08:06 AM

  rofl

ArthurS 2004-06-29 11:35 AM

I went and got them pulled.

I went in at 10:30 and was out by 12. They used NO gas on me since I didn't mind having only IV. After they stuck the IV in my arm...he asked me a few questions, then BAM.....asleep. I woke up before they had finished my upper one, but as still enough out to feel no pain, just weird sensations of pressure. He said I came out of it faster then he has seen. And I was able to walk fine to my ride's car without assistance either....must be from the experience from that drunk-walking game

Now I am at home playing NFSU and taking a lot of drugs. Went with Darvocet instead of vicodin, since I hate the stomach nausa from vicodin. Not as powerful, but I took a penicillin and 3 advil along with it.

Anyway, no pain at all (yet), and YES the dental assistant was *hot* and drives a black jeep wrangler.

ArthurS 2004-07-12 01:06 PM

Well, been over a week and I never hurt once from my wisdom's being removed. I went in today to get a filling done also. Finally all done.

Actually I am of thinking of asking one of the hygientist that works here out on a date.(Currently I'm working in a dental office) She's a cutie.

oh and as requested by Nick; BUMP

Scott, Nick made me do it!! Honest. He said he would ban me from i-club if I didn't :p

Nick Koan 2005-05-29 03:09 PM

Oh god. I was joking around. I didn't tell you to bump this thread.

sp00ln 2005-05-29 04:29 PM

Did you ever ask her out?

Duckie 2005-05-29 06:11 PM

pshhhhh! What's wrong with women not your age? I have only ever dated a girl my age once. If you two are attracted to each other than what else matters? Just cause im 18 and my girlie is 25 didn't magically make the feelings we had for each other go away =P

Dean 2005-05-29 08:22 PM

Talk about eschatology. Over 9 1/2 months dead, and you had to go and shock the damn thing back to life. Maybe I never should have asked Scott ot reindex the DB so we could search for old posts. It might have stayed dead.

Duckie 2005-05-30 09:56 AM

Actually it was on the first page when I posted on it =)

Plus when I actually see a post with a few posts on it on the site it gets me all excited. It is always nice to get a little activity going on the site.
