I stopped waving years ago. 99% of the time it gets the opposite reaction than expected.

your doing it wrong.

You mean pointing with my middle finger doesn't mean "hello fellow Subaru driver, I appreciate your car"?

Yeah. . . these days I can certainly generate some empathy for the true civic enthusiasts (the few that manage to do it right), for having to put up with the image that all the idiots have created. I regret missing out on the RS model being new.

Try giving the wave to a STI from a Legacy. Usually just get what is that old guy doing waving at me look back in my direction.

BOO 2007-12-01 09:01 AM

Interestingly enough I was on my way to Target in Reno a few days ago and Got a friendly wave from a guy in a 350Z. that's cool when it doesn't even involve another subaru.

MPREZIV 2007-12-01 12:24 PM

Oddly, I seem to get more BMW guys checking out my car, and waving, than Subi people... :?:

Or from anything... people just look at me like I'm an alien. I know I'm not preternaturally dazzling to your sights, but I'm trying to be friendly in this world of antisocial fakers..

Like I've said, I got the weirdest effen look from the V5/6 front swapped OBS and his "other" - etc...

Oh, and +1 about new age Subarus being the new Honda..

It disgruntles me to think that when I get one (yes, I do want a budgeye), that I'll be automatically lumped in with that group - not that most will know any better.

Kinda like how we got stuffed into the LS1 stereotype back when.. Ah, yes, the "everyone must be a redneck/jackass," crowd..

MPREZIV 2007-12-01 12:40 PM

Oh, and while I'm in the sightings thread... I saw BANSUVS on Los Altos Pkwy around 11:15 in the Lil' Red Wagon.
Even people who I personally know don't wave at me anymore!
Kevin, you're blind...

GC8.Love 2007-12-01 01:01 PM

Most people 'prolly just think I'm staring at 'em these days anyway.

I think once the RS is back, Lonnie will be commuting in it more than me - I figured (and this could be a very wrong thing of me to do) that his lesser commute might be better for my car.

But is he a better driver for my car? We'll see. You all see any weird stuff going on with mine, and I'll be yanking it.

So, yeah, I'll be driving that white and green thing around. :D

I'm like the ninja of the sightings thread. No one sees me.
