I'll take any recent Ferrari over both however, You know, as soon as I'm actually offered this choice.

Come out to some autocrosses this year and you'll likely see it more often (sans stock rims). :)

Highdesertsuby 2008-03-20 11:30 AM

I'll definitly try to do that. When is the next one? Apr. 5th?

No way Scott, to me a Z06 is still a Chevy... Thats just me though

Emboyoyo 2008-03-20 11:34 AM

Me and Nick saw a really nice Audi R8 a couple weeks ago out at Buffalo Wild Wings!

Sorry but Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 > Corvette Z06 (that includes the ZR1)

Because assuming I could afford the Lambo, I wouldn't care about longevity or reliability...But to each his own...

You're evaluating using different criteria than Scott's (as was I, most likely).

Nick Koan 2008-03-20 01:02 PM

I saw a black (with colormatched ugly part) audi r8 near topanga canyon blvd last night.

My issue is that a Lambo is just a pretty supercar. It's just built to be expensive. Meanwhile the 'Vette has a long prestigious history of being a terrific racecar. The engineering and design in the Vette is a result of miles and miles of racing development, so it's a faster, more reliable, cheaper to operate, easier to drive, etc, etc, etc machine vs. the Lambos.

Sure the newer Lamborghini's are impressive machines, but they're just impressive in the way that the Veyron is impressive: on paper and on the check-book. They're the supercar equivalent of 22" rims... all bling, little bite.

I figured that was how you were looking at it...I agree entirely, but I would love the wow factor of rolling around in a Lambo.

So what happened to the sightings thread? No Subarus on the road in Reno in the last 4 days?

I can't swing a dead cat without hitting 8 subarus around here. I saw a debadged STI, 3 Imprezas and a blu wagon on gold bbs wheels (nice) lastnight at school

If I stood in the garage of my old house, I could see a WRX racecar, an SVX, two older Foresters, a new Forester XT, a new Legacy 2.5GT, and two Legacy Outback wagons. And that's just my garage, the house next door, and the two houses across the street.

Highdesertsuby 2008-03-20 03:09 PM

Around UNR, I seem to hear more Subies that I see. They are usually driving down 9th st. I have seen a Legacy GT coupe in the faculty parking lot next to the admin. building on campus...no mods that I can see except a nice sounding exhaust.

You guys must be kidding me. Thats like living on the beach and saying "damn, there are so many boats around here...". We live in a place that requires a 4wheel/awd vehicle to get around in the winter, so obviously Subaru, being an awesome car in the winter, is popular.

well to be fair those cars are really fast.

100_Percent_Juice 2008-03-20 09:44 PM

I saw something today that had me laughing for a good 4 miles. I was going east on 80 probably around 4pm and traffic was all bottled up. It appears that there were 2 accidents, the second was a rear ender caused by backup from the first accident. As I come up on the rear ender, I see that its a purple looking honda civic that smashed into the back of a white minivan. The civic was totaled and as I passed him, the kid driver reached up to adjust his mirror and it broke off in his hand. He looked down at it in his hand as if to say "did that just happen?"

SteveM 2008-03-21 06:20 AM

So even though you could swing a dead monkey by its tail and hit a Subaru around here, I have only ever seen one other San Remo Red WRX since I got mine four years ago. Seen plenty of 2.5i wagons in the same red, but not WRX. So I am driving home to my new neighborhood of two weeks, and what do I see driving into the same area, another SRR WRX! Wierd...

(haven't seen it again yet, so maybe it doesn't live there.)
