Nah, I went down to Sac on the 15th for a dose of humility. 4th in street tire (behind a Corvette, Camaro and a Porsche) and 73rd in PAX. On good days I'm fast, but I'm not as consistent as Matt and Alex are, so I'm just hoping to stay in the hunt and end with a PAX trophy this season.

There's also Cory, who will probably show up and start kicking some ass too pretty soon.

szucchet 2010-05-24 12:28 PM

I predict, me been able to make both days and having alot of fun:D.
hopefully well have good weather

WRXlerate 2010-05-24 01:45 PM

I plan on making it out both days. It was so much fun last time I don't think I can resist. Cory once told me it was like crack...and now I see why!!

As for the weather, last time I checked was 10% chance of precip on sat. 0% on sun. But anyone's guess is as good as what you read on weather.com

MattR 2010-05-24 01:57 PM

Hahaha...this is funny...I am happy to be running last saturday, I think the afternoon groups have performed better this year, So I have to capitalize Saaturday. Don't forget Mike K, he's more than capable of putting a smack down on us all, even in TSM..

Sunday, running 1st...ugggh. Definately not as big a disadvantage as going out first on saturday. I hope to do well this weekend, I've been getting schooled in PAX by the stock cars so far this year.

A1337STI 2010-05-24 03:10 PM

Oh ya, Cory and Mike can definitely be PAX contenders too! I was thinking the pax rating in TSU was a bit too high for mike to be able to come into play, but he's back to SM this year huh? and only 1 event away from leading his class! Wow!!

and crap Cory is in Green right? Last on Saturday... He'll do well.. probably place 5th and a1/2 fastest :?:

i think Mike is going back to skipping events for this year right? lmao  at least until i have enough pax points over him?

Kevin M 2010-05-24 03:13 PM

Mike said he'll be running the rest of the season, provided his tires hold out.

MikeK 2010-05-24 04:19 PM

I don't think I have a chance at PAX, SM is too hard. I am thinking of just running no points in the afternoon with you guys and trying for a decent raw time again. Getting up before 10 am hurts my feelings, anyway.

MPREZIV 2010-05-24 07:00 PM

Put new shoes on the car today... The others were definitely starting to give it up. Soon as I get the feel of the new rubber, I shall start to bring the pain.

MattR 2010-05-24 07:10 PM

Cory, with new tread you will feel awesome out there...I put Cory in the top 3 saturday

cody 2010-05-24 07:13 PM

Oh, BTW, if anyone wants to get out of shagging cones, you can help me out with putting bracelets on people and getting them to sign the waiver as they drive in. It's kinda fun to meet everyone and you can stand at Registration while cars are running, most of the time.

what did you get?

MPREZIV 2010-05-25 08:00 AM

245/40R17 RE01R's. Gonna spend the week scrubbing them in, and we should be rock and roll for Saturday!

A1337STI 2010-05-25 08:45 AM

245/40R17 RE01R's nice ... would 255's run on your car? Yep i think Cory will have a great shot at top 3 in pax Saturday, I'll try to sweep the line some for ya.. . and i'll sweep off the line quite a bit too lol

MikeK 2010-05-25 08:49 AM

My money is on Cory or Kevin to win PAX, although Cody is almost due for another bs run by now :)

WRX06TR 2010-05-25 11:57 AM

I will be out on Saturday running in SM, where I'm sure I will be stomped but I don't really care. Got the STi all suited up with 255 Azenis.

I can't really remember when to show up for running afternoon, be there by 12?

Kevin M 2010-05-25 12:28 PM

12 at the latest, but it should be early enough. 11-11:30 is better to ensure you have time to walk the course and do some socializing at lunch. :)

WRX06TR 2010-05-25 12:43 PM

Sounds good I will aim to get out there by 11.

If they would, I would have bought them some while ago! The 245's are entirely more than that car was ever intended for, and it was a PAIN to get them to clear.

I could get 255's to clear, but I'd be needing yet another suspension "re-map" in order to do so.

YGPM :)

Anybody else willing to help? I'm especially interested in somebody who will be there to run Saturday morning and Sunday afternoon.

van 2010-05-25 02:07 PM

I'm not sure we can promise someone they can get out of chasing cones for helping you put on wristbands. Attendance has been good so far this year so it's possible but it really isn't an official work assignment. If we are short people (like all of last season) they are going to have to work.

Wes, Carol, Dave, and everyone else I've talked to has indicated otherwise. In fact, if what you just stated becomes true, I will quit as Waiver's chief. I suggest you PM me if you'd like to discuss this further.

van 2010-05-25 02:22 PM

Calm down Buddy, I'll pm you in a bit

Kevin M 2010-05-25 05:51 PM

The waiver position is indeed an official work assignment, it just wasn't put on the worker sheets last season. It's part of the sanctioning rules that we have to have someone assigned to that position at all times.

To clarify, if "helping Cody" means not sticking him with the assignment the entire day other than his run group, I'm all for it. But for now, it's unlikely we can put more than one person on the duty.
