The lines helped a bunch. I think a lot of people would have had a better day saturday had the course been chalked. I know you're not supposed to rely on the chalk, but it sure is helpful.
|
Results are up ... Cory, 2nd in Pax on Saturday. Awesome!
|
SNAP! Smack talk backed up! :P
5th in PAX both days in a bone stock HS car I've never driven with a passenger! Not bad for an old dude, walker and all in the back... :) Top 20 both days raw as well. Matt is the only one to beat me both days in PAX. Biotch! :) And Nina won Ladies PAX Sunday with a Cone! And I think that run had an old dude in the passenger seat as well! Thanks Nina for letting me drive the 3... It was a blast. Everyone did great both days. Almost every SECCS driver was in the top 1/2 of PAX all weekend. Congrats to all. |
I got 9th in pax on Saturday.

Wish I could have made it out on Sunday but I didnt want to chance it with that shock spraying oil all over the wheelwell :( Damn Kev and Silvio you guys were CLOSE! Way to sneak that one out kev hehe. Calling KW today, Matt you said talk to Jorge right?
|
Yep, talk to Jorge, explain whats going on and they'll either issue an RMA or a work order for return.

Better late than never, here are some pics. Thor and Trisca (friends of mine-Trisca posts here sometimes) took them at the last AutoX.

Well done Matt, Pax win today!

I liked Matt's last run the best.

Not only did Matt take PAX, he had TTOD for non-karts. Only driver to get in 43s, and he did it 3 times. 8)
|
Hahaha, Yeah, I had some fun on that tough little course today...The video doesn't do run 5 justice...but I'll post it up...

Here's a picture of the beginning of one of the drifts! I wonder how it was possible for Subarus to take 1-2-3 in pax...? hmmm?

I think the only way to run any quicker on that gravel would be "on the cushion" in a sprint car
|
In other news, 60% chance of snow for truckee lasting until tomorrow evening. I question the possibility that I can even get my car out there in time for my runs. :(
|
Yeah, it's not looking good for tomorrow. IF It's not safe to drive up on bald Re-01'sm I'm parked...
|
Ya there have been a few flurries at my house already.
|
Run 3, not my fastest, pretty choppy actually and I got some cones
Run 2, my fastest, smoothest and cleanest. The infamous Run 5, everyone seemed to like the dirt flying...not that big of a deal on the incar.. |
Awesome vids Matt! The course beat me today, but I was stoked I eeked out a clean 45.6 on my last RNP run of the day. :D
|
"On run five, we've switched your regular Matt Roy with Ken Block. Let's see if anyone notices!"
|
Holy Shit, Kevin and Cory, WTF! hahaha. I guess the afternoon is faster on both days...Did it warm up a little? Nice running. Kevin, congrats on the pax win, that course frustrated the hell out of me today..haha.
|
:D It was a little warmer, and Bryan Nelson and Renee Chalke-lette (possibly others) spent lunchtime sweeping the course. So I'm stoked about beating Cory, but all I did was not screw up a PAX win that was handed to me on a platter.
|
The two most impressive runs I saw were Silvio's 38.2 in RNP, and Adam Kovac's 40.6 from TES- after a snow flurry, on a badly graveled course!
|
Yeah, it was seven rounds of bare-knuckle-boxing yesterday afternoon. The scary part was neither of us having any brakes in the cold, and barely making the stop at the finish!
|
Looks like you guys had fun! I had friends in town and just barely got the shock back from KW that Friday, so didnt have time to get an alignment. Next event Im out in Oklahoma again, so looks like season is over for me :( Time to order some parts and get ready for next year! I did bump up spring rates and put on a rear sway last weekend though, so should be fun learning the car again. I can definitely feel the rear is a bit looser now! Time to put the snows on, need to get the bald tires stripped off the advans. Im just leaving the new RE's in the closet so they stay nice and toasty lol.
|
AutoX on the 26th out at RFR ... anyone else dumb enough to want to camp out a lohotan lake? i did that on the autox that it snowed on us.. was a bit chilly in the tent... lolz.
anyone have a spare inner/outer tie rod that works on an STI? will GD parts work on it? both my driver and passenger sides are like fused. at the GRS i tried to give my front end a lil toe out, but ended up towing it in due to the shit being all stuck :( i'll autoX again toe in , in the front but its a lil lame. |

Wow! That makes it easy for me. Man, I miss racing 2 miles from my house. Surface conditions?

Damn fuel pump!
Thanks to Kevin,Nina,Kevin,Heather,Brian,Silvio and the Jacob Read for hanging out and helping me with my car. Super big thanks to Scott Knauf for trailering my sorry ass home. |
Results posted.

Holy Crap Kevin W...No more morning ride alongs for you...you kicked my ass today, glad I chose to run BSP, haha. It looks like Kevin M and I split the PAX wins on consecutive race weekends, if only I would have scored better today I could have taken 3rd in season PAX, but I just missed it... :( Great driving everyone...It appears the AWD cars have a stronghold on events at Stead for the time being, we'll have to see how the surface holds up over the winter.
|
Dammit, no trophy for 5th in pax... Still pretty proud of that.

Matt, Cory, Vic, Kevin M and Kevin W -- 5 of the top 10 in open pax, with Renee taking Ladies pax, that's impressive, Congratulations!!
I thought I heard at some point on Sunday that Kevin thought there was a 50-second run in the car -- and I think my comment was, "maybe, for an alien". Congrats Kevin, on that awesome run! I was also really impressed with Nina's 53 second run, Wow! |
Nina and I both benefited from a better surface in the afternoon. Plus, everybody that RNPed saw lots of improvement in their times as we adjusted to the surface.

17"x12" +0 w/ 315 tires, eh?
I'm clowning when he gets beat by a car on 17x9's that has proper steering geometry. |
jesus.
|
That's stupid.
