Here it comes...look out

Soon I will be the proud owner of one of the first supercharged SVX's in the world. Sorry that I havent been hitting up any of the meets as of late. But between going through 4 alts and then 2 bad batteries I have had one heck of a pain getting around. Then coupled with the fact that I am currently homeless(will be rectified as of may 1st) I haven't really been able to do much lately.

Anyway, look out STI's...cause here comes an SVX with some serious get up and go.

*sigh* once it comes though I have to pay someone to install it/ buy pizza and beer for you guys to do it for me =P It is times like these that I wish I knew what I was doing.

Btw, for now I will be running 6 pounds of boost with plans to run 14 pounds once I build my engine(dont hold your breath this will probably never happen unless I somehow start making more money)

Nick Koan 2005-04-21 12:51 PM

14 lbs

Damn boy, that'd be impressive. Good luck with the install, I can't wait to see how it goes. After its all said and done, we need to dyno that puppy.

Duckie 2005-04-21 01:00 PM

Actually from what I underdstand with the right amount money/multiple people stepping up to the plate for a rebuild. 14 pounds is easily obtainable.

As far as the dyno goes, you can bet that I there will be a dyno done =).

My only regret is that I will be missing the engine cover...poor poor engine cover I just bought will never end up on my car thanks to the S/C setup. Anyone in the market for a japanese engine cover? heh

Duckie 2005-04-26 09:51 AM

My supercharger and everything needed to run it should be on my car in about 1 month from now, it is now officially on its way. Mwahaha. Go SVX go!

Nick Koan 2005-04-26 10:00 AM

You better come to a meet after you get it installed.

Duckie 2005-04-26 12:50 PM

You can bet on it. Now I just have to find a competent and cheap place to do it. Im thinking about just having SSM doing my S/C my exaust and my brakes all in one weekend.

left footed whooten 2005-04-29 08:21 AM

Give them a call and find out. From what I gather, they are kinda busy right now. You should probably get an appointment within a few weeks of when you call (just a guess).

sybir 2005-05-03 03:49 PM

We have a number of projects going on right now. Do be warned that the shop is in general open M-F, as Nate and Joe have families and spend time with them on the weekends. We can get rental cars at good rates if it's required.

sperry 2005-05-03 03:59 PM

I don't wanna sound like a wet blanket, but when it comes to big swaps like this, I always take a "I'll believe it when I see it" stance. If I had a dollar for every person I've heard say "I'm gonna do X-big-mod to my car" that never got around to it, I'd have a 2.5L in my WRX and a supercharger on my SVX.

In fact, the only person I've met so far with grand plans that actually followed through was Sean Sifre (DrFunk on the board) who showed up to one of our meets 2 years ago w/ a new '02 RS and told us all about this crazy home-brew turbo kit he was gonna do. I blew that off as well, until a few months later when BAM! he shows up w/ a sick 03/04 turbo kit, and later a crazy air to water intercooler. That guy actually pulled it off and is one of my heros for actually following through on his idea.

Are you gonna be the next DrFunk? I hope so, since I'd really like to see what that EcuTune stage 3 is like on the SVX... but having been around the scene long enough to see most plans of grandure fail, and having seen how long and torturous the development of the ETS3 has been, I have to once again take the ol "I'll beleive it when I see it" stand.

Of course, if you need any help pulling this off let me know, I'm handy with a wrench even if I'm short on time! Or better yet, talk to Joe at Subaru Specialists... I'm sure he's on top of the ETS3 kit, since he's owned like 9 different SVXs over the years.

MattR 2005-05-03 04:41 PM

There's no "g" in Sifre.

I'd have to agree with that.. Sean still talks about it to this day! How he made a believer out of the SECCS :)

well anyway with that out of the way.. IMO, i think your upgrades will make your SVX damn cool.. but one thing i must warn you about is your budget. I'm not saying you MIGHT not go over the amount you think you'll spend.. i'm saying you WILL.. not out of spite or anything.. but i think it's the truth. There will always be a part that you need or something extra to make things work. Also, that parts list looks like it'll take at least a full two days to install.. plus the tune will = more time.. ANYWAY, please be careful with the supercharger and the tune. going from NA-->FI isn't really the easiest thing... you probably already knew that.. The car will be great once it's up and running.. One of a kind.. that's fo sho! cant's wait to see it!

make a believer out of us ;)

MikeSTI 2005-05-04 10:49 AM

thats a nice list

We are all excited to see this come around. What's the timeline!

Duckie 2005-05-04 05:27 PM

Well lets put this way, they processed my order today, they expect it to be to me by the VERY latest at the end of June. Im just gonna double check on the time its comming.

I do have the funding though. Considering I just paid for it ;)

Granted the install is gonna cost me, but im prepared. No tuning required, I am going to be running the basic tune(software will already be in after the install no tuning involved. I might eventually save up for a tune (if i do something else to my car I will re-tune it) I am prepared to maintain it as well. Ive talked to the devlopers and my kit comes with reprogramablke software and a preset that will run great here. I will be dynoing it right after the install etc. Ive seen the results of this in person which is what got me sold. We will see. Considering I will be the second-fourth person to have this, ever, I feel special/excited.

ScottyS 2005-05-04 08:36 PM

Troo --- Dr. Funk is the man. I wish I had the guts, grands, and gift to do that to the wagon (or maybe just throw a 2.0 swap in there). Trust me, Mr. Duck, when the car shows up there will be excitement.

Duckie 2005-05-05 05:24 PM

Hmmm, i wonder how much horse I will put down at the wheels. Im hoping for 200+

Kevin M 2005-05-05 11:36 PM

Dude, it better be more than that... that's only like 50-60 extra.

Duckie 2005-05-06 07:13 AM

I meant to type 230+ lol. 200 would be a pretty weak improvement for 6k+ o_O If it is only 200 I will probably cry
