WTB: Best Buy Assassin's Creed Receipt
So my copy of Assassin's Creed got damaged, and Best Buy won't exchange it with out a receipt, which I no longer have. So if someone else bought it, and still has the receipt, can I borrow the receipt.
|
 all I can do is laugh Bob...
|
Bob, just make a big stink in the Best Buy exchange line. Bring "your lawyer", i.e. some dude in a suit.

Do you have one of those reward zone cards? I would assume you don't, but if so and you used it you can pull up your past purchases online, but I am not sure if they would take that as a receipt anyway.
|
How does a video game get damaged in a way that allows you to exchange it?
|
especially since all games are now in disc form.
|
That's besides the point, I'm just trying to save a friend 60 bucks here.
And what you do is break one of the tabs that hold the game in place so it looks like it rolled around the box during shipping. Works with CDs as well. |
So your friend bought the game, didn't like it, then decided to return it without the receipt?

Make your friend buy you a new one!!
I hate that sort of stuff. |

I'll get more pleasure out of scamming a faceless multi-million dollar corporation, that sells poorly made, overpriced, plastic trinkets made by 3rd world kids, then I would playing the game anyways. That kind of shit helps me sleep at night. |
Well you didn't say that it was an accident.
I agree real friends help eachother out, but if your a real friend and you screw something up that is your friends property and it was your fault then the helpful thing to do would be to fix it...but in this situation thats not the answer. |
Many manufacturers will replace damaged media for free or a reasonable fee! Try that.
|
Friend or no friend, if I borrow something and it gets messed up, I fix it at my expence. That is what a true friend does, even if it was an accident.
|
How about just going and buying a new copy. Exchanging the busted one with the new receipt, then selling the unopened copy for $10 under the retail price. Then you're only out $10.
|
He wouldn't even have to sell the new one because he loves the game and would keep it. winwin

Currently has busted copy 1 Then buys new copy 1 Then uses receipt for new copy to return busted copy -1 =1 |
So, buy another one take the game out put the old game in and return it?
That's not a bad idea. |
Yeah, you can do it with cars and pets too.

Then buys new copy +1 Then uses receipt for new copy to return busted copy -1 At the conclusion of the return, Best Buy hands him a new copy because they don't do refunds, only replacements on opened games (last time I checked) + 1 = 2 |
