Yeah! It's that time again...Whose in this weekend? looks like we'l have a good turnout...

Anyway, did you guys see the forecast? Looks like a good chance of rain this weekend :twisted: Could be interesting.

Rain on Sunday is fine with me... but I'd much rather test-n-tune my car in warn, dry weather. Considering we race in the desert in the summer most the season, I don't really need to work on my "wet setup". :roll:

I'm with you ...I 'd prefer it stay's dry on Saturday.

I posted this in another thread, but anyway, what days are you guys going to race? I know scott will be there sunday, but the test and tune sounds interesting... (I presume its a get-in-line type auto-x day like CSCC has once in awhile) and I dont know if I should step on the foot of whomever wants to take the #2 spot in ST-X :P

Test and tune last year gave me a lot of seat time,,,its worth running.

Also, I was wondering if everyone wanted to come over to my house for BBQ, Beers etc on Saturday night. Nothing too crazy (we have to race the following morning) But it would be cool for everyone to get together. Sac crew should be here too.

Cold weather, cold tires, last minute scrambling for parts, Sac. guys already talking smack... Smells like autocross season...

Saturday is a combined Autocross school, and test & tune...

In the morning, there will be multiple elements setup to be run individually, and some chalk talk for the students. In the afternoon, the elements will be linked together to form a normal autocross course for more school, and tuning.

If you are planning to instruct, please let Dave and Jim know...

Sunday will be a normal autocross points event.

Should be a cool weekend in more ways than one if the weather stays as expected.

I'll be ther no matter what, my car on the other hand is still waiting for one of those parts I ordered 2 and a 1/2 weeks ago...

I'm up for BBQ...

Don't worry, Dean, we're gonna go out and mug unsuspecting FedEx drivers until we find one with a package for you ;)

This year, I'm going to have to say 'oh nooooo'.

What run groups will STX be this weekend? I may not be able to make it Sunday if its int he morning.

STX runs with street tire now, and it will be the last session of the day.

w00t! I should be there both days.

The way I understood Saturday's schedule explained is that if you're running test & tune only, you'll only be running in the afternoon (unless you're going to help as an instructor). Any running on Sat. morning will be instructors, for a limited time, and students after their chalk talk.

what time should I show up as a first timer?

I'm planning on getting out to Stead as early as possible to set up the SECCS "booth" (which reminds me, Matt, I'll need the ez-up and banner from ya if you're not coming out early).

I'm also planning on instructing... I probably don't know enough to help anyone but uber-n00bs that have never tried auto-x, but I figure I'll help out if I can. (Dean, do I need to email Dave about instructing? I was under the impression that just showing up and doing it was all that was required.)

Anyway, does anyone want to resurect the 7am donut meet at Krispe Kreme before heading out to Stead? Actually I think I want to be at Stead at 7am, so how about 6:30am donuts? (Somehow I don't think that's gonna work with this group... :lol:)

If you're going to attend the school, show up by 8am to register & tech. I'd suggest doing the school, because you'll get more seat time during the day for the same cost. (Did you get your free scca membership?)

I won't be doing the school...is noon still a okay time to show up?

Can you get there by 11:30? I'd suggest earlier than noon, because you'll need to register and get your car tech'd, and we don't know what kind of tech line there will be (since the guys will be starting annual tech on Sat.).

I'm a super nOOb atleast to Auto-x so serry I'm down with the 6:30 am stuff can use all the pointers I can get :D

Is anyone else crashing at my place? I think I have room for 1 more in addition to Kevin (once I go to WalBogs and get a replacement air mattress for the one my roommate took :lol:).

Don't worry man, I'm good to go on the couch or floor. I've slept in worse conditions before. (Field exercises in the military, basic training bunks w/9 other people in the room, sharing a twin mattress when I moved in with my ex-GF... ) Your floor is cake. :P

I spoke to Jim and Dave, and anyone is welcome to register in the morning and particioate in the exercises for whatever purpose, learning or tuning and then run the "full course" in the afternoon.

It wouldn't hurt to let Dave and Jim know you are willing to instruct...

I have space, if someone needs to crash Sat. but I won't be home until after 10:00 on Fri.

It looks like it might snow on friday and saturday... If thats so, I dont know if I can make it up there.

I may try to make it up Saturday, for the end of the event and the BBQ. If the BBQ goes late, is there a spot on someones floor for me to crash on?

BTW: I was at WalBogs yesterday picking up an air mattress, and I saw that they were selling real-deal EZ-Up shades... not their cheap knock-off ones! So that should greatly increase SECCS's shade, as we will have an additional 10' x 10' shade to go with our current smaller 8' x 8' and Dean's 8' x 8'. This also means that we finally have a shade as wide as our banner! :lol: So bring your chars and coolers, we're setting up the SECCS tent empire! :lol:

I also grabbed some adjustable bungees for our two shades, so we should be able to tie them down easily.

You bought the shade? Let me know, I was about to pick up one here at work, only the one here is a bit heavy duty, not real easy to move around.

Yeah, I got it. It's nice and big, and it's an EZ-Up so it's easy to put up/take down/transport. In fact it's easier than the smaller one, since the top is permanently attached. Just unzip the bag, pop it up and strap it down!

Sweet, I'll probably wont get out to stead very early saturday, so I'll need to get you the banner by Friday.

Well, I don't plan on hauling both shades, although they would fit. I've got all kinds of space until I have to start carrying tires. :P

Sorry guys look like I'm gonna miss both school and 1 race. My wife just had our 3rd baby. I might be able to make it to the next one.

I'm probably bringing a pop-up, possibly one of the huge ones so we have a dry place to work on cars if needed.

I've got a 10x10 ez-up in the back of the hoopty-wagon too.

Scott, I need to give this ez-up back to my dad at some point, how much was the real one?

Harbor freight also had a good deal on them last I knew.

I'll be up Sat. and Sun. to watch with Scott.
