Random lighting stuff

I've got some stuff laying around I'd like to get rid of. As follows:

Almost enough pieces to make two headlight assemblys, just missing the piece I gave Scott for his light. So if anyone else needs spare parts let me know.

Several sets of H3 fog/driving light bulbs. 1 pair of Osram All Weather (new). These have a yellow coating and came from the UK, I've never seen them sold here. Similar to Hella Yellowstars or PIAA Ion Crystals. I also have 1 Pair of CATZ super white (used), 1 pair of PIAA Plasma Blue (used), and lots of regular clear ones.

Also have some 9007 bulbs, for the headlights. 1 pair Sylvania Silverstars (used), 1 pair Eiko super white (new), and a single Philips High Visibility, which I only used as long as it took me to screw up the other one installing it.

Last, I have a pair of 2.5 inch round dichroic driving lights (used) which would fit well in the lower grill opening, or possibly behind the stock upper grill if you get creative. And a single 5" X 1.5" driving light (new), which makes a great auxiliary reverse light. You can check out the one on my car if you want to see how it looks. And finally, a single Hella 500 driving light(used), if anyone with these (cough, cough, SCOTT!) wants a spare or something.

I think that's about it. I'll take any reasonable offer on any or all of it. If anyone is interested in any of this, let me know and I can bring it to the next meet or we can meet up whenever else is good. Thanks for looking.

How much for the Silverstars and how long were they used?

khail19 2003-04-14 07:22 AM

They were used no more than two months. How's $15 sound?

Hey Khail!

I never used that bezel you gave me, since I just ended up waiting for my STi projectors to come in, so I can give that back to you to "complete the set".

How much for the "Osram All Weather" bulbs? I'm looking for some yellows for my Hella DE foggers.

And on more thing: my exhaust is leaking *yet again* due to the auto-cross... I think I'm just going to order up a flex version of Vishnu's up-pipe, unless you can find me some 1/8" or thicker gasket material... got aything like that at Napa? That ceramic stuff looked like it was gonna make it, but I think since I had to use 2 layers, it couldn't handle the hi-pressure during the auto-cross.

You should go to a machine shop and have that damn thing o-ringed or something so it won't leak..

You know any o-rings that stand up to 1200 degree temps? Or is "having a flange o-ringed" mean somthing other than getting a slot cut into it for a rubber o-ring?

Sorry dude. I just double checked my lights. I use 9005's. Damn. Those are great bulbs. Wish I could've used them. :x

khail19 2003-04-14 06:35 PM

Scott,

How's $25 sound for those bulbs? And I'll take that bezel back if you aren't going to use it. I don't think I have any other gasket material except for that really expensive stuff. I don't think it was anywhere near 1/8" thick though.

Lude,

Thanks anyways, they are good bulbs though. Too bad you can't use them.

The SilverStars Khail hooked me up with are great, I really notice the difference in lighting, and when the brights are on...look out! Khail even installed one of them for me  . Pick these up for sure if you're running stock headlights, I was never very impresses with the stock output, but I can definately live withthe Silverstars.

damn khail i'm beginning to think you work for some kinda underground auto lighting club. At least you have the lighting expierence we can all gain from if we have a question. i think i might get some of those silverstars, after seeing my bro's M3 HIDS the stock WRX are just really weak. anyhting would be an improvement. cant wait to see all the good weds night if your there.!

$25's cool, I'll bring the cash and the headlight bezel on Wed night!

khail19 2003-04-15 11:23 PM

I'm a one man underground club! Yes, I have a strange fascination with lighting. I'll bring all this stuff tomorrow night so you guys can take a look at it. Obviously the Osrams are Scott's, and it seems dcfc03 has dibs on the Silverstars, but the rest is up for grabs. See you guys tomorrow at 7pm.

Hey Khail! I got the Osrams in my little projector foggers... they put out a really sweet wavelength.

Not yellow so much as "gold". So instead of just tinting everything yellow, it's more like wearing those nice amber shooting glasses where everything just gets "crisper" looking.

Now to go find some fog!

Thanks Khail!

khail19 2003-04-27 10:11 PM

Cool, glad you like them. They are pretty popular in the UK, I guess. And they get lots of fog to use them in!

Super ancient bump!

One of my Osram All Weather bulbs finally gave up the ghost... anyone know where to buy these things? It seems like it's impossible to get amber H3 fog bulbs these days!

Kevin M 2007-12-05 02:18 PM

I found a few UK Osram suppliers that will ship to the US without raping you, back when I was looking for real-deal SilverStars.

Make with the URLs!

Kevin M 2007-12-05 03:07 PM

URLs! :p

I don't remember the exact name of the place I got my silverstars at unfortunately.

Yeah, the first 6 of those I've already checked out. I think I may have found one site in the UK that will sell to the US, but they don't have the newer Osram Super All Season H3's I want.

Email 'em. If they're an Osram supplier I would think they would be able to get them easily enough.

Actually, there was a guy in the UK on eBay that sells them much cheaper (like half price) with 100% feedback and shipping to the US, so I did a buy it now on two pairs. (shhhh... don't tell Dean, I'm up to 3 eBay transactions since 2001!)

Kevin M 2007-12-05 04:25 PM

Link please. When I read the first post I was going to call dibs on those H3s. :p

linky

One pair left!

khail19 2007-12-05 06:03 PM

Holy crap, this post is old!

I don't know if you've already tried them, but I've bought a few things from powerbulbs.com in the UK. I think they had free shipping, but I haven't used them in months.

I was going to order from Powerbulbs or Motorbulbs (both in the UK) as they both have free US shipping, but the eBay guy was half price for the newer 30% output bulbs... if I get screwed by eBay, I get screwed... it's not a ton of money, and I can just order from the other sites later if necessary.

Seņor Cheap Bastard says: I hope it is a buy it now, and watch out, your average is going up... :D

I wonder what the average SECCS member's eBay feedback count/rating is?

100_Percent_Juice 2007-12-06 10:27 PM

I have 100% of course.

khail19 2007-12-06 11:14 PM

100%, 128 feedback and counting.

Kevin M 2007-12-07 09:23 AM

100%, 55 items or so. But all but 1 or 2 is as a buyer.

k-dogg39 2007-12-07 09:37 AM

100%, 121 feedback

BOO 2007-12-15 07:12 AM

100%, 25 feedback
