Subaru Impreza recall-Seat Rail bolt
Did you 02/03 owners get this recall notice from Subaru?
It cracks me up that they state "Subaru has determined that the left front bolt....may loosen & possibly fall out ... there is the possibility that the seat may separate from the seat slide rail in a crash, which would pose a safety hazard to the driver." Duh! I guess the good news is that they got these notices out. |
I know 3 people who've had that problem.

I've already had to tighten mine. What the hell do they do for the recall, lock-tite it? |
Mine was loose as well a couple weeks back. I wonder what they do as well. And why isn't it an issue with the passneger side?
Lock washer, Maybe? |
Haven't had a issue, nor have I received a notice of recall.
|
Just more proof that WRXs suck.
|
notice says this affects some 'Impreza' vehicles. What's the RS?
|
An RS isn't an 02/03, not a real one at least. :P (no offense dr. funk)

They really should have dropped 'RS' and gone back to 'L' for '02. It's slower than the old RS, has fewer features standard, and most importantly, it's now the "base" model Impreza. sounds like an L to me...

Someone has to represent non-turbo bugeyes around here! I guess that's me, since I think I'm the only one who has one.

Who is this other, Yoda?

I thought Yoda says that on Dagobah, right after Obi-Wan says "That boy is our last hope", in ESB when Luke leaves his training to rescue Han and Leia and Chewy.
|
Oh, and my seat bolts are fine, if anyone wants to know.

I never remember hearing Vader say it, I'm going to go watch it right now. Not that I don't believe you, I just can't believe I missed it.

We can just go to the desert and set up some cones. It'll be fun and more importantly free.
|
True, that would be cool. Holy thread hijack, Batman!
|
I have some pink cones we could use. Not enough tho. :(
btw, whatever happened to the rallyx research this season? |
We only need a couple cones, we'll manage.
|
Yeah, we'll just do figure 8s around the two cones. Put them about an 1/8 of a mile apart.
|
Sounds good to me.

Regarding the RallyX... Matt and I had enough to keep us busy with SECCS, Solo2, Solo1, Track Days, jobs, and our tiny social lives that we couldn't find enough time to plan RallyX.
We got as far as initial talks w/ Rich out at RFR about using his old motocross/quad course. He said he'd be willing to grade it (removing the jumps) and then we'd have to get people out there to pick the rocks out of the track. It would have been a *ton* of work to prep the course... plus it'd be expensive to run out there, since we'd have to pay for the site, and a water truck. Not to mention... neither Matt nor I have a clue about running a RallyX... nor do either of us have a car that we'd be willing to run. So we just sorta stopped planning. If anyone's interested in taking up the cause, let me or Matt know, and we'll put you in touch with the contacts we've made (Rich, some of the Oregon Rally folks). |
Thanks Scott. Yeah, I just couldn't remember where it ended. And, you guys did not make it up to Oregon to observe, right?
|
Matt's car can run a rally-x just not your bucket.

Alright... this thread's soo OT, now I'm gonna have to go and split it into like 3 new threads.
I know SECCS is notorious for thread-jacking... but this is supposed to be "technical" discussion. */me ducks* |
