How do you get problems with a stock swap? It's using a WRX ecu right?

JC 2004-08-25 05:37 PM

His transmission is fucked and he is having some other little problems like no a/c. It's a fine deal you just have to deal with it's issues. He only wants like $8,500 for it.

Oh, so no engine issues? Damn I wish I had $8000 right now. :( Although, I don't actually want an EJ20 swap so no real loss here.

doubleurx 2004-08-25 06:52 PM

That was in sport compact - reader's cars a month or so ago.

Very cool

JC 2004-08-25 09:08 PM

Do it Steve do it.

Kevin M 2004-08-25 09:13 PM

Damn, it doesn't get any better than that.

Kostamojen 2004-08-25 09:32 PM

It could be better... The engine bay looks rusty, and its awefully far away.

Kevin M 2004-08-25 09:37 PM

So? The paint was abraded off the roof of your L. That's easily the newest, lowest milage clean title car you're gonna get for $6500.

almost 100,000 miles.

I mean still that's a lot miles.

Kevin M 2004-08-25 09:49 PM

Again, budget limits. AWD Subarus under 90k or so will be more than $6k usually. A '98 RS with 100k is worth $6-7k still. I guess I'm still shopping for myself- I am not concerned with milage on the car I end up getting, since it's getting my RS motor next year anyway.

Kostamojen 2004-08-25 10:03 PM

I gotta keep looking for local stuff...

Can anyone keep an eye out on Reno papers/classifieds for me?

That's not so good. It's too bad I saw a Legacy Touring wagon with 130k for sale for 2200 a week or two back in San Jose.

No way, dude. Say it's not so! There must have been something serious wrong with it --- yeah, that's it!

OK, OK, twist my arm....1998, 88k, original owner, clean title, $5300. Actually, just a bit on the low side of reasonable. The idea, of course, is not to get lemonized.

And it's obviously VERY clean. So far, 4,000mi with zero issues. I'll probably never find a nice one again, now that I've spilled it....

Damn, that's exactly what I'll be looking for when I start working. Except I actually don't care for the green... but I'd take it for a good deal like that. :P

ScottyS 2004-08-26 03:50 PM

Yeah, the color was about the last thing I asked about! It was certainly worth the drive to Sac-town to get it.
