Drive for ESX? Debbie, DeeDee?
Hey, Check it out...ESX wants a female driver for next season...
http://www.i-club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=71214 Oh, Scott, I have the heat gun ready anytime... |
Should I put up an add for a woman to drive my car? I need to meet some chicks too! I just don't have the $40,000 salary to give out.

I saw that, they are talking about it on nasioc.
Depending on how I do at Nationals, I may apply. 8) Why don't you guys just get a wig & shave your legs & apply too! |

I went into Lithia Subaru yesterday to get the application for the lady driver, but they didn't know anything about it. They took my number and said that they are going to get in touch with the regional guy, whom they said should know about this.
It would be fun, a year traveling and racing. I figure I'll give it a shot. Thanks for posting this! |
Thought you guys might be interested in some of the credentials of the finalists. All I can say, is, WoW!

I've seen a few of the girls, I know EXACTLY what their credentials are.
|
Those are some skilled girls  :D

High aspirations are one thing, but you should probably accomplish you goals before you list them on your racing resume. I think ESX needs to pick one of the girls with significant drag experience. This whole "let's get a woman driver" thing is worthless unless they pick someone that can win. That Joanna chick has the least impressive resume (especially if most of it is BS) and is probably the hottest of the finalists. Picking her would be for marketing purposes only, and IMO contrary to the whole point of this "contest". |

I think they should pick Michele (the first girl I posted) but they'll probably end up picking some idiot dragging racing whore. Don't judge people from here-say on the internet Scott. If I did that I would think you were a sexually frustrated loser who trys to compensate by making empty threats of running people over with tanks and what not. That's only partially true. :P

And, that shit aside... seven years of AutoX, and participation in rally/rallycross and drifting harldy holds a torch to 10 year drag veterans, or women that drag 1200rwhp turbo mustangs, or women that have drag WRXs themselves as far as looking for a drag racing driver. I'm willing to bet Jo's on the list because she's hot as hell, and not because of her driving credentials alone. I can't blame ESX for giving her a shot because of the marketing gold mine that a woman as hot as Jo would be, but I'd rather see them sign someone that has a chance at being a dominating champion right out of the box. |
So you'd take experience...over hotness? It would be good for them to have a new comer on the scene who is hot and socialable IF she can drive well enough (it's drag racing for god's sake )

From what I've read (hell on the ESX page alone) that Jo chick isn't even in the same company as some of those others... I can't imagine she can do as good a job as those other women who have been drag racing for years. |
|
What a shocker.
|
She's 18. She's the one who's done junior dragsters, can you believe that! Way to represent Subaru!

Why does it look like the hood scoop is on backwards in the Easy Street car behind the babe?

If the air from the front is specifically routed out the reverse scoop, there's no cowl-induction taking place.

What the hell is that Scott? That's certainly not the ESX car (at least not done) and that vent is clearly not going to the hood scoop.
|
Rally car with V-mount and hood vent.

The pressure just back from the leading edge of the hood should be close to ambient, and fairly easy to overcome with the RAM air from the front, but the area in front of the windshield is a very high pressure area and not so easy to overcome.
IMHO, only if that huge reverse scoop is moving that high pressure area in front of it instead of the windshield and actually producing fairly smooth flow up and over the windshield/roof would you have a lower pressure zone behind the scoop. You still have all the pressure from the air hitting the remainder of the windshield wanting to escape into that low pressure area if it exists to overcome as well before you actualy get vacuum from inside the engine bay. Oh No, I think JC and I may be agreeing again.. |
I saw this debate before it even started.

If you guys didn't have debates this site would be boring to read.

1) I'm an Aerospace Engineer 2) I've turned my scoop around and tested the flow direction to prove someone else wrong. To get back on track, the girl from the Mopar drag booth. Somehow I don't think she drives it? :P http://www.urbanracer.com/gallery/ga...-2-04/0087.jpg |
Talk about hood scoops and generating lift!! Thanks JC. 8)
