Sighting! (that's right)

Saw a sweet looking silver WRS on McCarran today...

what's up Khail

sperry 2002-12-18 05:09 PM

I saw Khail and the WRS on S. Virginia all the way down by South Meadows a few days ago. Unless there's someone else with a sweet silver GDA body Subaru with big orange fogs in the grill.

khail19 2002-12-19 12:09 PM

Wassup guys,

I saw Matt yesterday, and I saw Scott a few days ago, down by Winco. My yellow fogs are gone though, maybe you were seeing the residual image in your mind. They have been replaced by Sylvania Xenarc HID auxiliary lights. They make my Silverstars look as yellow as regular bulbs, they are sweet. Check em out here Bulbs See you guys.

Khail

You see what you expect to see I guess... I saw a silver Impreza with the blacked out side indicators, and the rims, and my mind musta pasted in the yello fogs to match.. hehe!

ArthurS 2002-12-19 03:16 PM

Saw 3 WRB WRX's today all within 5 minutes. Was driving down keystone, saw a WRB WRX Wagon, then driving opposite to us, a WRB Sedan, then another WRB WRX Sedan in the wells fargo parking lot that got pulled over by a cop.

I thought this was a fairly rare car to be seeing around town, but to see 3 in a row, all WRB, in one area kinda shocked me.

sperry 2002-12-19 03:20 PM

Leaving my parking lot for work yesterday morning, I was at the stop sign behind another WRB Sedan, and a black wagon pulled up behind me !

WRX != rare anymore. Makes me wanna buy a '01 RS, and swap all my WRX parts into it... then sell the WRX w/ a '01 drivetrain to some dolt. Mo MONEY, Mo MONEY, Mo MONEY!

ArthurS 2002-12-19 03:28 PM

Wonder if that was me in the wagon.......probably not. Saw 2 other wrx's and a 2.5rs in the theater parking lot last night also. It makes me want to get some body kit or something so I look different.

sperry 2002-12-19 03:33 PM

Prolly wasn't you unless you live in the Vintage at South Meadows too.

Man, somtimes I wish I had gone with a black WRX... and if the wagons had the flared fenders, I would have definately gone wagon... but alas, I'm just another generic WRB Sedan..., not that I'm complaining! Besides, one of these days I'll get the STi grill, the side skirts, the scoop and have the '02 STi look on hit!

ArthurS 2002-12-19 03:47 PM

I like the black so far, when its clean.....but its not and it looks very brown now. Plus the dealership left a bunch of swirl marks in the paint from the buffering. Gatta go bitch to Lithia about that.

Just get a sticker on your back window that says "4EAT"

That'll make you stand out

ArthurS 2002-12-23 01:54 PM

That might work.....but then people may laugh at me....then I will just pass them

ArthurS 2003-01-29 12:33 AM

Hey,

Was that you tonight Matt that I passed near downtown? I swore it was your painted rims. I was almost out of gas, so I hope I didn't brake to hard in front of you to turn into the gas station. Just noticed at the last minute.

MattR 2003-01-29 06:17 PM

HAHA! yeah, that was me, i waved once I knew it was you, but it was damn dark. haha. I figured you were focused on the gas station...see ya later..

ArthurS 2003-01-29 09:24 PM

Yea, I was pretty empty. I didn't even notice that bright warning light. But I did notice your car at the last second. I couldn't tell if it was you with the tint, but assumed it was because of your wheels, and I haven't seen many white wagons in town.

ArthurS 2003-03-10 01:46 PM

Hey Sperry,

I saw you today around 12:30 exiting onto South Meadows exit. I was driving a green Audi A6....(Since my car is at Carson Subaru). I honked, but I am sure you had no idea who did it.

I saw that car!! You were booking! But I didn't hear the horn... my stereo was totally cranked up.

Oh, sorry about the rain ya'll... I washed my car over the weekend...

ArthurS 2003-03-10 02:04 PM

I was only doin' about 80 mph. I had to go back to subaru in carson to do a drive with the mechanic, to explain the noise to him and I was a little late.

But those Audi's sure can move if you want them to. MMmmm.....twin-turbo.......*drool*

MattR 2003-03-10 11:40 PM

I saw a really hooked up looking Silver WRX sedan today, OEM kit. It looked good, but I didn't recognize the driver. I hope the SNIC (sierra nevada impreza club) can grow to 10+ cars or so, I just gotta find a way to get these people to stop...haha

ArthurS 2003-03-11 08:15 AM

Might have been Khail's...

I saw a WRB WRX at Mimi's Cafe last night. Had AEM stickers and exhaust. Never seen it around town though.

sperry 2003-03-11 09:03 AM

I too saw a silver WRX (or it was Khail) way down on the southside. I did a run halfway up Gieger to the scenic overlook thing. After coming back down this WRX made a turn in front of me and headed into a neighborhood. I went to chase him down (silver Impreza, black or gunmetal rims, polished lip), but he got a few streets ahead of me and I lost him.

Anyone here live out off Rim Rock Dr.?

sperry 2003-03-11 09:05 AM

Oh, and I saw a WRB WRX Sedan in the parking lot next to KFC on S. Virginia. But it was stock :P

I've seen a black WRX Sedan w/ rims and exhaust in that lot on a few other occations, tho.

ArthurS 2003-03-11 09:13 AM

Speaking of black ones, this one always sticks out in my mind. There is a black wrx sedan always parked by the food court at the mall. Its debadged and has NO exhaust what-so-ever. Looks like he has a STi hood-scoop also.

NO exhaust? how's that work I wonder...

ArthurS 2003-03-11 09:23 AM

I am not sure....maybe it doesn't and thats why his car si still sitting there. It is in the same spot everytime I see it. Maybe someone ripped his exhaust off? Looks like it hasn't be washed either for months. But I did look under the car out of curiosity, and no exhaust.

That must have been me. I didn't see you though. I live up here off of Rim Rock a ways. I just wanted to live near my testing road (Geiger) .

Well then, the next time I see an Impreza out there, I won't hesitate to run you down... I was being all nice trying not to speed and stuff. If it wasn't you I didn't want to freak anyone out by pullig up behind them honking and waving and stuff.

ArthurS 2003-04-08 10:55 AM

On McCarren going up Caughlin ranch, I just saw a RS-T. This thing was sweet! Nice rims, exhaust, aftermarker front bumper, sweet lights...and it goes on.

He pulled to the left of my at the light and took off when it turned green. You could here that turbo screamin'. Those cars look so sick. I hate to say it, but it looks better then the WRX.

ZER026D 2003-04-08 02:59 PM

I think so to

sperry 2003-04-08 07:00 PM

You check this totally riced out WRX I saw at the autocross!!

http://www.doink.net/images/misc/W_Rice_X.jpg

Looks pretty sick yo!

tysonK 2003-04-08 07:20 PM

seriously,
I saw the c-west kit car again, when i was on Baring in Sparks after renting some movies, i told my brother to turn around but he doens't give a crap about me and my car club so i couldn't go see who was driving. I got a good look at the back of it, it has the big WRC? wing. Since it was dark i couldn't see the rims like last time it was driving past i couldn't tell the rims either, i can recognize WRX's better when i know exactly what rims it has. hopefully i will see him/her again.

tyson out.

ZER026D 2003-04-08 07:50 PM

We need to get them on here I saw a girl driving a WRX today I should have turned around a talked to her she was hot she would have liked my car.

sperry 2003-04-08 09:58 PM

MattR 2003-04-08 10:09 PM

I FULLY ENDORSE THAT MOVE! hahaha, can you photo chop the ROWF? I need to see it lowered 1.2 inches. 8)

tysonK 2003-04-08 10:52 PM

HA those brakes look way TOO small Scott i think you at leat need 13.5 inch rotors on a Sponsored Vehicle! but damn RED looks so great on WRX's i wish i could have bought a fire engine red WRX, i would almost think about geting mine painted, after my black startes looking really bad.

lowered approx 1.2 inches:
http://www.doink.net/images/misc/Mat...on_lowered.jpg

Minor difference... but looks more agressive lowered.

MattR 2003-04-08 11:59 PM

Hmmm, that should work, It looks better, thanks

ZER026D 2003-04-09 11:02 PM

I just saw a WRB WRX and it had a STI badge and it said STI on the licence plate but looked stock beside that.

ArthurS 2003-04-15 12:54 PM

Outside my window right now, there is a white gc8 with a WRX hood scoop on it. Actually looks kinda funny. Overall it looks pretty sick though. I should go run outside and catch him, but thats a long ass run.

A what? with a what?

GC8's have hood vents and scoops on them from the factory... how can you tell it's off a WRX? And why does it look funny?

http://www.cobbtuning.com/impreza/images/gc8.jpg
Looks like the same vent in the same place as my WRX..

Man, why'd they have to go and make the WRX look so weak next to this car! And the newest one looks even weaker!

ArthurS 2003-04-15 01:50 PM

Sorry....I meant to say STi hood scoop. The thing was bigger then a normal one.

This is from about 50 yards away, but you could tell it just stood up higher.

That makes more sense.

Man, I keep having fantasies about finding a '99 GC8 2.5RS, then getting a closed/stroked 2.2L block from RalliSpec with forged internals, then running twin turbos, FMIC, and a Link ECU... 20psi!! Don't forget the US 6 speed STi tranny w/ the DCCD... And then drop all the STi suspension bits in with some JIC coilovers. Plus a roll cage with a pair of Sparco Torino seats. Flared fenders and some 17"x9" SSR Comps. Brembos with SS lines... Boo Yam!! Best looking Impreza, highest boost motor, sweetest tranny, and dopest track suspension.

ooh ohohoohohoohoohoho....

ArthurS 2003-04-17 02:30 PM

Hey Tyson,

Was that you I saw traveling on Pyramid highway into Reno? It was a black WRX and flashed back. Thought it was you.

tysonK 2003-04-17 04:17 PM

NO.

,tyson

you'll recognize me pretty easy after i get these gold wheels on, they are going on tonight..werd.

ArthurS 2003-04-29 03:45 PM

I saw the black WRX with the roll-call this weekend at a party. Looked pretty tight. I left a note on his car with the webpage address and a explination (so he didn't think I was some lunatic  ). Hopefully he will come onthe board soon.

MattR 2003-04-29 09:06 PM

We should put together some business cards or something, anyone know acheap way to do this? That way Art won't have to resort to stocker-ish notes on peoples rides,

imprezton 2003-04-29 09:55 PM

fine, I never wanted to be invited to your parties anyway :x

ooh ohohoohohoohoohoho....

Or the whole USDM STi drivetrain, but who would be crazy enough to do that?

ArthurS 2003-04-30 07:39 AM

It wasn't stalker-ish. Just said

"From another WRX owner : go to www.doink.net and then the forums to see info about Reno meets"

As funny as it sounds, if everyone wants more people to show up, then a business card isn't to bad idea. :P
