White STi, gold wheels.

At the top of Rachel's list is a cellphone w/camera & IM capabilities. Thoughts, ideas?

for my kids to be happy! :D

last year we went out as a family to explore the giving side of things with the homless, I like seeing that side of my kids more then the getting side. They even seemed to have more fun wishing others a Merry Christmas then the unrapping of thier own gifts (theres always somthing they wanted and didnt get). We will problly go out again this year to make a tradition out of it.

I think it is important to teach the kids that it feels better to give then recieve any day of the week.

qksubi 2004-12-06 11:12 AM

I don't want to ruin a sale for jason or anything ... but until cobb releases the tuning software (who knows when that will be) and someone nearby with a dyno buys it ... i.e. nate, and who knows when THAT will be ... the accessport isn't so useful.

I think you would be better off getting an ecutek tune from nate when he gets the software (last weekend they told me it would be wednesday this week). After the initial licence fee cost you will just be paying nate for the dyno time every time you want to add parts to your car.

And even if your modifications match the modifications needed for cobbs off the shelf maps, I believe that they leave a lot of power on the table. A custom tune would be much better.

"Well.......I meant I was going to start a fund for homeless children and then I was going to buy a big shiny silver car."

I'd like a 3Ware 4-port 64-bit/66mhz SATA raid card, please.

Evo Mike 2004-12-06 12:45 PM

I WISH FOR:
-GT30R turbo
-New Wastegate
-720CC injectors
-Perrin FMIC w/Pipeing
-New Manifold
-exedy Twinplate Clutch and Flywheel combo kit
oh and an ARC induction box intake system (although i can do without it santa)

HAHAHA    .. hahaha haha yeah right...

anyway, as far as your daughters cell phone that has all of those things. If she's looking for a small phone, i'd suggest the new motorola keyboard/internet phone by T-mobile. It's a brand new model that is really good. however it'll probably run you about 300$.. that's the downer...
If you're looking to spend about half that much, there's the new Sidekick II. It has an awesome camera, IM ability, internet ability, and a pretty good battery life! The best part about it is, it costs about half as much as the motorola.. (but is twice as big).. The sidekick is really the new IN thing.. but it's bigger than a normal phone. It's actually 200$ with a 50$ mail in rebate. Yes, that is a bit expensive, BUT, you wont be finding a phone with all the stuff that your daugter wants for under 150$. It's quite sad... they give those phones away for free in japan.
To add to that note, the INSTANT MESSAGER feature on an existing plan will cost extra. Personally, i pay an extra 19.99 a month for unlimited Text msging, unlimited IM, and unlimited internet access. 20$ per month on a cell phone bill kills.. my dad almost kicked my a** when he saw the bill..

Just another note, Cingular and T-mobile phones both take SIM card's, SO if you have cingular, you can buy a T-mobile phone and use it or visa versa.
I know AT&T has a similar phones to T-Moble's sidekick or motorola, that has those capabilities made by Samsung and Nokia.. However, if you have verizon... i have no clue.

Anyhow, i hope this helps you! Best of luck!

Well Jason at Cobb says they have the software but waiting for laptop tpecu plug for dist. jan. I am on a waiting list the software is real close to ecutek I played with it at SEMA and talked to those guys for a couple of hours! I dont think they have it according to matt

Kevin M 2004-12-06 01:16 PM

Personally, I think the better route is to wait until a professional tuner, i.e. Nate, has used both and can form an unbiased opinion of which is better suited for a given purpose. In the meantime, I'm in the EcuTek corner. The only weakness of that software is the lack of user tuning, which 95% of us don't need anyway.

qksubi 2004-12-06 01:24 PM

Iam going to have to wait because Jason hasnt come thru yet so who knows what I will end up with I havent seen any real results from anyone accept mike harris with the accessport until I can see somthing from somone else thats what I am going with

MattR 2004-12-06 01:27 PM

My latest scheduled dyno day is saturday the 18th, so I will have a dyno chart of cobb's off the shelf map vs a custom tune :)

Well, obviously the peak numbers will be down on the base map, but if the boost and A/F curves are smooth, that says a lot about their tuning. Being down on power compared to a custom tune is cool as long as it's safe and very drivable.

Thanks for the feedback/ideas, Mike.

Dean 2004-12-06 05:23 PM

I'd like an autocross handicaping system that is slightly more based in reality than the current PAX/RPT system. After a one sided discussion wiith the author, I am not very convinced it is at all based in science, and statistics as much as gut feel...

I'd also like a way to beat the Karts with a suspension, , doors, and fenders at Stead. I am not sure there is one unless somebody has a spare AMod car lying around.

Oh, and a BB gun... :D

I managed to find a 64bit/66mhz card today, so I guess I'll settle for a new Legacy GT, Santa.

murphy 2004-12-07 01:08 PM

 just who in the F@ck were those bands Tyson?.
I'd love it if santa brought me a cusco 1.5 way lsd, and a exedy twin plate clutch, and an RE-AMEMIYA front end kit. for my never ending money pit project car.

AtomicLabMonkey 2004-12-07 01:15 PM

Well if we're just getting ridiculous with things, then I'd like Santa to turn my car into an sn95 version of our MM racecar.

tysonK 2004-12-07 08:23 PM

Ok.

Well some of those bands are new and you would never have heard of them anyways. Trust me they are not super obscure either. It's kinda like when Matt was talking about RC cars with Jason I was like not in the conversation but plenty of people are.

Some of those are awesome new "Techno" albums that I'm guessing Matt and Scott and the like will be interested to hear.

If you don't make and effort to find music you will like, then it' not worth hearing likely.

It took me two weeks to make that list. I wish I was rich.

tysonK 2004-12-07 08:24 PM

I like the Bee Gees Matt!

tysonK 2004-12-07 08:25 PM
