Trackmaster's event at RFR, May 28/29

I know most people here are planning on going to Hawthorne for autocross that weekend, but if you are not, I just got an email from the people organising this track event saying the pricing has been reduced. It is now $165 for one day, or $275 for both days.

At first I was planning on going to this event, then after autocross this last weekend I decided to go to hawthorne instead, now with the lower pricing I am completely undecided.

Here is a link: http://www.trackmasters-racing.com/h...tsfernley.html

MattR 2005-04-27 10:46 AM

I'm with you Mike, I can't decide what to do...I saw this link on I-Club this morning.

sperry 2005-04-27 01:10 PM

I'm leaning towards the track day myself.

Hawthorne's fun and all... but this year it's a Vegas event, and I'm really worried about the high speeds and the drama that's brewing between the two clubs due to it.

I think I'd rather spend a few more bucks and avoid the long drive to Hawthorne, and run two days out at RFR.

doubleurx 2005-04-27 01:46 PM

Is anyone going to do this and do the Audi event two weeks later? I think I might.

Kevin M 2005-04-27 02:12 PM

Between the competiton aspect and the proximity of the Audi CLub event, I'm planning on Hawthorne still.

I think I'm going to Hawthorne to watch the Theo vs. Edy challenge, and take on some of my Harrah's coworkers...

Ok, so I have applied for a trackmasters application. You need to become a member before you can sign up for their event. Go to their site, and fill out the free registration.

http://www.trackmasters-racing.com/index.html

Then, when you get your confirmation, you can sign up for the event. I have decided to do the track day, once I'm officially signed up, I will withdraw from the North-South Challenge.

tysonK 2005-05-02 07:07 PM

yah F hawthorne.

I applied for trackmasters.

Since I dont think I can make the audi one in June

Kevin M 2005-05-02 07:23 PM

Bummer, why Tyson no Audi Club?

sperry 2005-05-03 09:05 AM

I put in my TMR and RFR registration info... so, pending acceptance to TMR, and pending sending them some money, I'm in.

Of course, I totally forgot to grab my Audi Club membership number, so I still haven't signed up for the Audi event at RFR. I'll try to grab that at lunch... it's almost time to start the track season!

Doug at trackmasters took about a week to get back to me

MattR 2005-05-03 09:23 AM

I got my reply from trackmasters this morning ( My reputaion must have sped it along) that was quick.

I will register when I get home tonight...

sperry 2005-05-03 09:26 AM

Hey Matt, are we signed up for event positions at Hawthorne even though we're not running the event? I don't specifically remember if we signed up for anything, but if we did we're gonna have to talke to Dave on Wednesday and back out of it. :(

I'm 99% Sure I skipped signing up for ANY position at Hawthorne, because I didn;t want to have to work with any LVS region people. I think we're ok.

Well, I'm the safety steward for one of the away events... but I think it's for WMCA.

...dare me to say John's course is unsafe?

BTW: Did Tyson ever put in that shirt order?

doubleurx 2005-05-03 11:45 AM

I'm signed up and paid for - both days. What a bargain!

doubleurx 2005-05-03 12:32 PM

Numbers

Where do you folks get your numbers? Should I get the one's they advertise? Or do you have a better source?

Kevin M 2005-05-03 01:57 PM

PM Pat.

I have till this friday Dave said.

I'm gonna try to do thrusday though.

sperry 2005-05-05 08:24 AM

Well, I got my confirmation from TMR for the event... now I just need to send in my money and I'm all set.

Also, I've removed my registration for Hawthorne off MyAutoEvents. The rest of you should do the same to help the organizers get an accurate count of who's actually going.

MattR 2005-05-05 08:32 AM

I paid for both RFR days this morning, I am confirmed and paid for the track day. I am in the process of removing my registration for hawthorne.

Matt

dknv 2005-05-05 08:44 AM

We'll miss you guys there.:(

And did I hear right last night, we are taking the Reno bus & using our timing system? If so, who is running T&S?

I got my confirmation for the membership and paid two days ago, but I have received no confirmation of the actual event?

Dean I presume.

Pat R. 2005-05-05 08:59 PM

I'm in.

MattR 2005-05-05 09:28 PM

Sweet Pat...I can't believe everyone is jumping ship from hawthorne, but this makes total sense..

With 10 of us, we might be our own run group, that would rule.

I just heard from Doug and he said he put 6 of the subarus in the same run group (all that signed up for intermediate). Who are the 11 total? If there are more than 6 Subarus, he said to verify you have paid as there are only a couple spots left.

sperry 2005-05-07 12:38 PM

I'm all PayPal'd up... he may have not been counting the unpaid registered people.

tysonK 2005-05-07 12:55 PM

I'm all paid up.

First Track Event of 2005 wow!

I'm lovin' it.

Pat R. 2005-05-16 05:21 PM

Should we do a group brake bleed / flush, etc. at my shop again?

What night is good for you guys?

MikeK 2005-05-24 08:36 AM

Any night except wednesday works for me.

Do we have to be at the track friday night, like the audi club event? Or can we just show up early on saturday morning?

Ha Ha I just received a confusing message from Trackmaster's. Something about early registration is only on Friday. Does that mean we can't register first thing Saturday. That would suck.

I don't know it I can make it down for the group bleeding!

From what I understand, you can do normal registration on saturday morning, early registration on friday evening.

If you show up on friday wanting normal registration, you will have a long wait :P

tysonK 2005-05-24 05:45 PM

well I'm about f'd in the A.

My job all the sudden got ridiculously busy.

They are threatening to make me work on Saturday, I really don’t want to have to call in since I already did a couple weeks ago, and they fuck you when you get absences at Penneys.

I e-mailed Doug to see if I can cancel out of Saturday…*sigh*

I'm so freakin mad.

The one fuckin weekend I schedule an event I already paid for!!
