My car is now 10% harder to damage...
|
wow
you getting replacement vents and scoop? or leaving it as is? |
"Panda"
|
I like the white vents and scoop. I'll get 22B style vents at some point though.
|
Okay, yeah, that is HELLA sick.
|
It looks better than I thought it would, partly because of your gunmetal wheels. You're quite the riceboy :P
You should smoke your headlights. |
fkcn A!
|
For the love of god... paint it white or get C/F vents/scoop!!!!

"If you can't afford to paint your body kit, you can't afford your body kit." The white vents look like either JC can't afford to paint his hood or can't afford to buy the whole hood. Disagree w/ me all you want, but I think the hood looks like ass that way. I'm all about the huge weight savings of the C/F, but not when it makes you look like a 1/2 ass ricer. |
Well if you think it looks that terrible, you are gonna know how I felt seeing your car with those nasty little fogs all the time. :p I like the white vent and scoops (I could have gotten CF ones if I wanted). I will add 22B vents at some point though. Oh and we all know I'm 100% ass, ricer or not.
|
I dunno, I think the contrast looks kinda cool. I actually don't mind unpainted gloss-finish C/F, as long as it's done tastefully (and somewhat sparingly).
|
Personally, i love the contrast with the vents... it looks kick ass imo.

Oh and Scott, your car is the closest to rice out of anyone here :p |

"Classy" eh? That's why you see unfinished body panels on cars like these too eh: http://www.discountpartcenter.com/ph...us-Maybach.jpg http://pwp.netcabo.pt/0510598901/Fig...0AlpinaB12.jpg http://www.topgear.com/content/fun_s...es/image04.jpg  Like I said, I've got no problem w/ C/F hoods, since they're *way* lighter than the stock steel hood, and esp since that's weight up front where Imprezas already have too much. But if you're gonna leave it unpainted, don't pretend you're not going after the "ricer look"... very few cars can pull off the raw C/F hood look... maybe a race car that's already totally minimal.... but even then that's pushing it, as I can't remember seeing too many race cars w/ C/F hoods. On a street car, I think you should paint your body panels, or get used to people like me talking shit. :P  As far as my rice-mobile... I think my wing might count as "rice", even if though it's wind tunnel tested to reduce lift. Perhaps you're talking about the stickers that *used* to be on my car... 'course those stickers got me a free EcuTek reflash, 5 hours of dyno time, and eventually led to a StopTech sponsorship. What else is ricey? My Enkei rims maybe? Sure Enkei's are popular w/ the "ricer" crowd since they're cheap, but 17x8", 15.6lbs, and they fit over my StopTechs... they seem like pretty good wheels, and I think the McClaren F1 and Mitsubishi WRC teams agree w/ me. :P Did I miss anything? |

I just had an idea, lets make a "Rice-o-meter" and assign point values to everything thats ricey and make a point-based scale to determine how ricey ricers really are.
(Did I break a record for using "rice" in one sentance?) |

Scott, why isn't your wing painted? Sounds just as ricey to me as an unpainted hood. Actually, painting the hood would be more rice than leaving it, since JC would be spending money on something that has no performance value (paint). Which is pretty much the definition of rice, as I understand it.

JC - The hood looks dope :D
f*** Scott:P , you can't please all the school girls  |

And I never said that painting the hood *has* to be done, I understand that the C/F hood thing is a "look" that some people like. In fact I don't even think it looks all that bad, it's just a ricey. However, leaving the stock white vents/scoop looks like "I can't afford to buy the whole hood, so I'll just re-use my old parts." Which looks exactly the same as those retards w/ the intentionally or financially unpainted body kits. At the least, flat black those vents! Stock Aluminum Hood > Painted C/F Hood > Stock Steel Hood > Unpainted C/F Hood > Unpainted C/F Hood w/ Stock vents. So, feel free to like the hood, I'm not trying to change your opinions, but you should recognize that you're all ricers. :P  PS: JC, you need hood pins on that thing, or one windy day driving across Washoe, you'll end up w/ no hood, and no stock vents. ;) |
Ithink JC should get a carbon fiber trunk and leave the wing white.
I actually like the contrast as well. |

JC, it looks darn good. Panda....sexual harassment panda....

Nice. I would get the hood painted, unless you're gonna match it with a CF wing, lips, and skirts though. Too many Hondas running around with the same look. Not that I can comment on teh bling with my amber corners and all...
+1 on the pins --- I've seen that happen, and I think it's funny as long as it doesn't happen to anybody I know. Aluminum stock hood? What models got that? |

I have hood pins (CF ones :)), they just aren't on yet. There is more carbon fiber in my car's future...

...not that I think the Spec-C wing does all that much, it was put on my car for asthetic reasons right before the NORPAC car corral so my car wouldn't look like "just another blue WRX in the show", and it seemed to help since I picked up ESX as a sponsor shortly after that... remember that was the era of the "I heard there was a WRX around Reno w/ $45,000 into it"... you could say that my car was the most famous WRX in Reno at that time. If you want to talk aero, I bet the '05 STi wings are much more useful. But on a windy day out at Stead, on the scales w/ the nose into the wind, the gusts were causing the rear weight to fluctuate a few pounds heavier. So, it does do something, even if it's not much, or useful at autocross speeds. Plus, I thought I agreed that my wing was the riceiest thing on my car! Sometimes you've gotta do shit like that to project an image that sponsors believe will help sell their brand... is that "being a ricer" or "selling out"? Perhaps, but it does help pay the bills. Tell me, who's paying you to leave those stock white bits in your C/F hood? :P Anyway... I know I just got baited into a long-winded post as usual by JC. :P So I'll just wrap up w/ this: If you like ricey parts on a car, good for you... have fun w/ that. To me there's a really fine line. A *complete* C/F hood, or my wing (while pushing the boundries) are on the acceptable side of the line... but when you intentionally go for the "unfinished" look (or altezzas... god I hate altezzas), well, then I think you're over the line, and I'm gonna tell you that your car looks retarded. If you like it anyway, just keep telling yourself that "that's just Scott's opinion and he's a hypocrite" if that makes you feel better. I won't mind. |

The "you" in my last statement wasn't directly intended to you, it was a plural you directed at *all* the ricers on this board. :P I *know* you don't significantly care about my opinion, which is why I'm not bothering to pull any punches in telling you that I think the mis-matched vent/scoop looks bad. :P |
You both suck.
I hope someone can bash on me for having new paint on my car...oooohhh rice!!!! Losers. :p |

I think it looks great and it is a very unique look to my knowledge. Anywho I guess i should come out and say my car is Ricey too since I have an unpainted 97 grill on since my waterfall cracked.
