The outfit is called Metal Master. I'll check on the pricing for y'all. I got a "discount" because I throw a ton of business his way.
|
I'm very interested in PC...Nice work man, those look great.

Post your wheel size and the color you'd like and I'll see what I can find out...
|
Done, and Done.
For those interested, please reply. Pat , thanks for trying that out, I may potentially do 8 wheels if the price is right. |
Mine are 30% gloss black. They turned out pretty good, I think. Not as glossy as I thought and they will only get flatter since I will never wash them again!
Viva la track pads! |
4 wheels 7.5 X 17 charcoal (gunmetallic) gray or like yours if that's not available.
Thanks Pat!!! :D |
4 17x8.5 volks in flat or semi-gloss black! Actually, is there significant variation in pricing by color, or by finish?
|
4 17x7.5 wheels. Gunmetal Grey.
|
4 16x7.5 Gloss black.
Maybe we could get some kinda group discount yeah? That would be sick. |
4 17x8" Gold!
|
what the hell.
4 17x.7.5 Magnesium Blue(if that's even a color we can get) |

4 17"x7.5" Bronze Baby!

4, or 5 17x7.5" gunmetal, or black depending on price. I also thought about color matched Sedona Red... Or maybe WRB for contrast?
If it is really a good deal, I'd proabably do my Enkes as well. The same color as Scott of course. I assume they do all the prep work... |

I wonder what WRB wheels would actually look like on my car. Pchop anyone? |

And, unless you're attempting to match a sponsor's corporate colors and never intend to street the car, I'd stay away from the high-contrast red and yellow... yuck. |
I was thinking blue wheels would look sweet on my Silver. For autocross only and stuff...what say you?
|
Do it, in dark blue.
If I had a white, all-black, or silver car, I would. |
Actually, I was thinking gunmetal blue would be cool. Most gunmetal you see is gunmetal grey, or gunletal bronze, gunmetal blue might be a really cool wheel color.
I can't find exactly what I'm talking about, but this Vette is closs. http://www.lonestarcorvette.com/FUN/IMAGES/sfazio.jpg |
Something tells me the powdercoaters are gonna tell us: "we gots light black, black, and dark black, we aint gots no sissy coorveet gunmetal blue."

If I had wheels to powdercoat, I'd be game. But, you know. . .

I was going to go with chrome to match my numbers but decided to go with black instead. Matt: you don't get to choose your color- you're getting "Cotton Candy" and you're going to like it! :P |
Quote:
Well, If you pay for it, I'll run em :p Hahhaa... That would look whorible. |
Quote:
Oh, and i heard there is an extra charge for wheels that have been previously "Matt Blacked" :) |
I'd be interested in getting my stock wheels painted, but between the PC and dismount/remount/balance, aren't we talking about a couple hundred bucks?
|
Just do it the next time you're getting tires.
|
I could help out if people have rims that need dismounting/mounting before and after the powdercoating. You'd need another set of rims to run in the meanwhile. Your car can't sit here at Nissan with no rims on it for a week! ha ha!
|
That would work for me if we did it soon (RE: before the resorts open). I don't think the AVS ES100's I run as summer tires would be safe in snow.
Any ball park figures yet? |

I'll take pictures of my rims tonight, I just got them back from powder yesterday.
No hookup, just a guy in Chico who did an amazing job, especially given the previous condition of the wheels. I paid 240 out the door for 4 17's. I gave them to him bare, he stripped them and prepped them, PC'd them, then I got them back in the original boxes. Painless, one stop, etc. |
Quit playing with my emotions. :P
Okay, stock wheels are what? 16X6.5"? I'd probably want a similar black to what Pat R. has. Quote please? |
I want to get my stockers powdercoated :(
PS: Jonny, those six spokes you have are 16x7 noob. |
So Pat, where are we... There is clearly interest, what is the next step? Do these guys want to do business?
|
I finally talked to him today. Preliminary guesstimate is $150 / set. I may be able to get it lower- especially if he doesn't have to order any powder.

I'll drop my sub zeros off Monday... For that price, he can use any color he has within reason... Does he have a list of colors he has?
You also never know, with the power of the Internet, if he isn't net savy, we may be able to find him a source for cheap powder... |
For $150 a set, I wish I had more wheels! I'll piggyback somebody else's color, especially if it's gold, bronze, or black.
|
I'll talk to him again Monday to try to firm up a price and get a list of what colors he has on the shelf.
I don't think he uses the net too much- he still has dial-up. |
