Anybody wanna go boarding at Rose tomorrow?
 

I'm thinking of getting some breakfast and coffee around 9am or so and heading up thereafter. It's amazingly nice considering the lack of snow we've had...or at least it was on Tuesday...

Yes.

except:

- I have to work.
- I suck at snowboarding.
- You have my snowboard.
- Being cold sucks.
- I'd have to get up before 10am.
- It's only a matter of "when" not "if" I will suffer a serious injury if I try to keeps snowboarding.

...so I think I'll pass. ;)

Don't worry, you're not missing much...you're board is archaic. But it saved my good board from getting chewed up by rocks in the powder the first day I went. It's a good samaritin board. :D

:lol: Nice to know something that's 3 years old is already "archaic". I guess snowboards age faster than computers, 'cause I've got a 5 year old computer here at work that I use everyday and wouldn't consider "archaic" quite yet.

I'm not complaining...it's just heavy as hell. It's got to be 4 years old. I think they stopped making the Floater before 2002, but I could be wrong. It's actually a touch longer and wider than my other board so it's great in the powder, but it feels like a plank of cement on the runs. :p I'm probably just used to my Burton Bullet...which is 3 years old and it shows. Soon your board will have epoxy all over the top and P-tex filling all the scratches on the bottom. :D

ill be up there, today was sweet and i was rockin the snow. Just look for me tommorow:
- dressed in all black
- SNC snowboard team on my coat, front and back
- Oakley white camo goggles with fire lenses
- red hat
- make fun of gapers all day (so dont dress like one)

-Catching an edge while going way too fast and laughing hysterically at myself :D

I've been meaning to try snowboarding for years. I used to ski every so often when I was a kid.

Not that I ever have any time in the winter nowadays. . .

gapers are not gay rappers but they are posers and tourists who come up and stare or "gape" at the lake and the mountians, we call em gapers up here

Man, what a great day. The snow is still loose and powdery on most of the runs and I didn't fall more than once or twice...I almost always hurt myself a little, but I'm getting good apparently. :D

Oh, and I'm a gaper according to your definition Boxerracer. I was "gaping" at both lakes and the awesome weather patterns today.

Yeah I've only been once...because after that time by snowboard mysteriously disappeared from where I left it. So now I have 2 passes that I can't use! Hooray.

That sucks...but you should borrow, rent, or buy one...today is going to be epic.

I know, so was Sunday, and Monday, and every other freakin day I see snow capped mountains and realize that I have nothing to ride on. I love it love it love it!

Well, today wasn't quite epic...the powder got all crusty when it got rained on and froze. Once the sun hit it, it was cool though.

It was raining hard at Boreal when I came over the pass tonight...bye bye snow.

Yah, the snow level is supposedly 8K feet tonight and tomorrow. I'll figure out if I'm going tomorrow in the morning.

Yea, i am used to skiing and jumping on pure ice in Minnesota, the first few times here, i was actually struggling i was so used to the ice. lol

So have people been goin up to Rose? I finally got a board so I've gone a few times. This weekend was hella windy so it wasn't fun.

Yesterday afternoon wasn't too bad. The wind died down toward the end of the day. I go most weekends...

Cody do you ski or snowboard? Doesn't matter, I'm just curious, I'll definately be going again Saturday.

Yeah after going up Sat. and only being able to stay for a couple hours due to weather, I'm remembering to check first. The weather that is.

Oh yah, Saturday looked like it was gonna be nasty up there. Yesterday was beautiful apart from gusty wind up at the top earlier in the day. They actually closed the front side for part of the morning due to wind, but thankfully it really mellowed out.

today sucked up there - wind, fog, snow, cold.... I saw big foot and the abominable snowman... or maybe it was a large shrub covered in ice.... i couldn't tell but all i knew is that I was getting back in the subie and going home.
