Customized Plates- and my options - and post whoring

Hello ! so who has a customized plate ( i know that NOTURBO) does ?
who is currious about one?

i'm tempted to buy 1337STI in NV. BANSUVS is aviable, and very funny but i feel wrong about copN someone else's idea.

plate ideas you want to use ?

plate ideas you don't mind for open use ?

:)

MPREZIV 2006-03-03 12:50 PM

If I recall correctly, there's already a thread on this...

Mine's also my screen name.

http://www.seccs.org/forums/showthre...=vanity+plates

yep, here it is.

DARKSTI 2006-03-03 01:00 PM

yeap, i have my screename

cody 2006-03-03 01:48 PM

I had SNW ADCT in CA, but it was pretty lame in retrospect...

I tried to get CAUTION here, but they wouldn't let me. I decided to just get a normal randomized one.

MPREZIV 2006-03-03 03:34 PM

Cody, I'm hoping your new sig. is a ref. to the Tool song, because I LOVE that song! (Aenima)

cody 2006-03-03 03:36 PM

Well yah, can't you see my avatar? I stole the avatar and the sig from a guy on another forum though. I'm such a biter.

edit: Okay, now I've completely plagerized his profile. I can't resist. To give credit where credit's due, his name is LemonHerb on wrxfanatics.

edit2: Tool is fucking awesome! I really like that Deftones song that Maynard sings on.

A1337STI 2006-03-03 04:07 PM

I was also thinking of getting something like 10I010I (i's and 1's) so that if you tried to take down my plate it would be very confusing. I don't think the dmv would print it and i think cops would pull me over, just becuase its confusing.
(a friend suggested it to me) the initial idea sounds cool. (anyone writing down your plate, writes it down wrong)
AWDPWN5 I'de also love to get :)

also i'm thinking of
PSTWHRE (any ideas what that stands for ) :P

Ha!

I thought you were going to say you wanted that plate,10I010I, because it's binary for somthing. I wouldn't try to get one that's too obviously hard to read though...might backfire and you might get more cop attention...as if a giant park bench on your trunk isn't enough. :P

A1337STI 2006-03-03 04:15 PM

also thinking of
NOSHTS4U but its too long :(

cody 2006-03-03 04:17 PM

I don't get it. No shits for you?

A1337STI 2006-03-03 04:18 PM

i do like the park bench
WNG4LIF ?
seariously i am thinking about 1337STI and AWDPWN5 for plates. mostly the first one, the last one was a lil thing flashed at the end of some vid i saw on the net . like AWD PWN5 700 !!! lol it would be funny cuase i'm into the Pure Pnwange videos (parity of a pro gamers life) ;) guess rally related plates would be cool too. "WRC STI"
hmmf.

A1337STI 2006-03-03 04:19 PM

Shots :P

cody 2006-03-03 04:23 PM

I still don't get it.http://www.wrxfanatics.com/html/emoticons/iono.gif

Nitrous? Alcohol?

A1337STI 2006-03-03 04:32 PM

Alcohol. it was sorta a cross over thread from the "this guy was trying to street race me" as in no shots for matt :P (as if he was gonna read a thread made by me , after getting upset with my post whoring) i dunno i figured on the long shot he did read this thread he might get a laugh out of it and cheer up. BOOT what ever ;)

cody 2006-03-03 04:36 PM

Aw, I gotcha now.

On wrxfanatics.com, we have a postwhore thread, and any meaningless dribble gets merged into that. It's pretty cool, because if you want to just postwhore away in that thread you can.

I'm fine now. :moon:

I read every post.

A1337STI 2006-03-03 04:53 PM

Belive it or not , i fully didn't realize i was post whoring. until someone mentioned it. then it hit me like a ton of bricks. :p (think i saw one those on iwsti.com ) . and i'll probably buy him a drink (if i'm buying shots for peeps) i'll probalby forget by then why i wasn't gonna buy him a shot. i'll probably forget who is he :P

(guess its okay to post whore my own thread though eh? :) )

Ah well if you ready every post, :P guess you would be seeing about 100 from me, in the last 3 days (or when ever i found this forum) lol my bad

A friend of mine at IGT already took "1337" on his Rodeo, as well as 1000101 (binary for 69) on his Camaro SS.

You need to come up w/ something more creative. ;)

MattR 2006-03-03 04:59 PM

I know 1337...You should get "RMBLNMN" as in Ramblin' Man!

 at myself

A1337STI 2006-03-03 05:00 PM

655RXY ? (that's my current plate :P ) lol BLUESTI there we go, who thought of that one yet ?? I dunno , not sure if i should have a vanity plate or not. it might be good for me if i had something really reconizeable. if everyone will remember it easily , it would definatly keep you from ever drawing bad attention to your car / driving. i was gonna put WWW.RIDELAKETAHOE.COM in the back but 1) the spoiler gives enough visibility problems. 2) if i'm ever having a bad day , get really rude to someone and get into my car they get mad. they may talk about about my buddies business . (he says he somethings thinks about that if he passes someone on the highway and they end up pissed at him) so i kinda like leaving it looking just stock. nothing to really identify it. but i guess its a bit more rare of a car then a base line impreza .. (i'm not used to having any sort of a 'special' car) ;)

Yeah, but that's 8 letters i can only have ... oh wait a minute :P

 yeah that is pretty good. i dunno. i do ramble. I'm either in chatty or hermit mode, i know no middle ground :P

sperry 2006-03-03 05:04 PM

Attention is a bad thing.

Driving that around for a year *sucked* on the street... everyone wanted to pass or race me. However, on the track people get out of the way, since they assume it's uber-fast (when in fact that was when my car was in STX trim, which means bascially stock motor/turbo + intake & exhaust).

cody 2006-03-03 05:05 PM

All that, and you didn't paint your sideskirts. :P

Painting the sideskirts doesn't make the car any faster.

Dude, that is so wrong... Painted side skirts are worth like 5 stickers per side.

Either do all of those other exterior mods. :P

Actually, those stickers were worth 5 hours of dyno time... at the going $195/hr rate, that's nearly $1000 of go-fast money.

cody 2006-03-03 05:42 PM

That's cool, but I was referring to the fact that you'd put more money into those EDM lights (and Hella fogs/horns) than it sounds like you had put into go fast parts at that point. Am I wrong?

I got the EDMs for about $400, since insurance gave me $200+ for the busted stock one I was replacing. Plus, the EDMs put out about twice the light as the stock lights... sound's pretty functional to me.

Since a stock foglight cost $120 to replace (I broke one of those too), I bought two Hella 500 driving lights for $75, so I actually got a ton more light while saving money. And since I no longer had fog lights and missed them for driving over the pass in weather, I added the projector fogs. Again, all totally functional.

And if you don't think Hella Supertones are functional, please stand in front of my car for a demonstration.

Finally, even though you didn't mention it, the wing is a replica of the Spec-C wing, which was designed in the windtunnel to reduce lift and drag... though I don't know if the replica is exact enough to help a lot, it should be better than the stock wing that came with the car. But that's probably the most non-functional mod on my car.

By my count, that's about $1000 in parts. My suspension alone cost more than that.

cody 2006-03-03 10:30 PM

That's cool too, but my point still stands. Painted sideskirts don't make the car faster, but neither does the rest of that shit. Just giving you a hard time. ;)

But it *does* make the car faster. The sponsorship got me a free EcuTek license and 5 hours of tuning, the lights mean I can go faster in the dark, and the wing supposedly helps drag/lift... everything is functional. Painted side skirts are purely cosmetic...

Other good ones:
Os and Ds (especially with the old-school blue/white 6 digit plates)
Vs and Ws
Bs and 8s
Fs and Es
Bs and Rs
Ts and Is

But it only really works if more than one person uses a combination of the same pair of letter/snumbers. If "88B8BB8" is the only one in the DMV database with all Bs and 8s... it doesn't help so much. ;)

Kevin M 2006-03-03 11:06 PM

This thread was much longer and more rambling than I anticipated when typing that first reply.

We could all get plates with slightly differing combinations of 8s and Bs.

GC8.Love 2006-03-03 11:45 PM

Saw someone with ScubyDu or something like that on 395S just past Parr today.

I have my username (kinda - GC8 Luv), but the DMV smushed it all together. I'll get it fixed when I have the patience to wait a month and a half more.

cody 2006-03-04 12:25 AM

SCUBYDU is an awesome plate.

My plate isn't that hard to read I think, but nobody can ever get it right! People BUTCHER it! Just ask Dean...

M3n2c3 2006-03-04 03:48 PM

Yeah, Dean knows all about license plate misreads.

True, but it would be funny to see a bunch of Subarus driving around in a pack with plates that all look the same at first glance

A1337STI 2006-03-05 08:49 AM

Yes i'm down :p lol we can all get one's like I010I01 some switches the 1's for I's someone only does half of them ;) lmao :p althogh if our cars are different colors , makes it may not work that well.

sperry 2006-03-05 12:11 PM

The DMV won't usually give out plates that are intentionally confusing. My friend w/ 1337 and 1001010 tried to get the WWVWWVW plate and they wouldn't let him.

However, I think a lot of it has to do with who ends up helping you at the counter. I tried to get "SECCSVX" for my SVX and the lady that was helping me actually went to her manager to ask if that was acceptable. They turned me down. I think if the person that was helping me was either stupid or cool, she would have just given it to me.

I've seen that before, but I think it was a plate back east... probably one of the NoVA or NESIC people on NASIOC.
