Is it PerrIn or PErrin? Pronunciation-wise.

rubberbiscuitt 2006-04-30 06:37 PM

well, it's P as in Piss yellow. but i dunno about correct phonetics of perrin.

sperry 2006-04-30 08:12 PM

Perrin = "Pair-rin" IMO

cody 2006-04-30 08:39 PM

cody 2006-05-01 10:38 AM

GI Joe!

sperry 2006-05-01 11:05 AM

Now for the mother of all disputes:

Tein

cody 2006-05-01 11:07 AM

I always heard Tein like "pain".

cody 2006-05-01 11:08 AM

I hope it's not "teen" cuz that could sound wrong if you complimented sombody on their sexy new coilovers.

sperry 2006-05-01 11:38 AM

Kumho = Koom-oh

khail19 2006-05-01 12:19 PM

It took me a long time to realize I didn't actually start this thread...

I always thought it was like Pair-in, but my roommate lately has been saying it like Pur-in, which I don't think is right.

cody 2006-05-01 01:55 PM

You're right...your roommate (mom) is wrong.

Double Phister 2006-05-01 01:56 PM

I think it's more pear-in than pair-in. But I'd rather squeeze a pair than a pear.

Enkei was always Een-key to me.

Same thing isn't it?

JonnydaJibba 2006-05-01 03:09 PM

my cousin lives in elk grove.

Ezdno 2006-05-01 03:35 PM

For 20+ years we have been using the pronunciation of enkei as INKEE

Tein just seems to be it should be said like TEE in, if it was in german it would be TINE.

Its Japanese, so its pronounced like Cody said.

Tayne (rhymes with Pain)

M3n2c3 2006-05-01 06:08 PM

I dunno about Enkei or Tein for sure, but Kumho should be "goom ho," and Hankook should be "hahn-gook." :P
