Spark Plugs - Local Source?

I would like to buy Denso Iridium Spark Plugs PN: IK22 (One Heat Range Colder).

Can I get these cheaper than $50 shipped or find them locally for less?

sp00ln 2006-06-06 11:34 AM

Wow... the most I've ever payed for colder buring spark plugs was $10

Kevin M 2006-06-06 11:38 AM

They weren't Iridium.

MPREZIV 2006-06-06 11:48 AM

I know Summit carries NGK iridium9, but I don't recall the price and stuff. Least it's local...

cody 2006-06-06 12:13 PM

Is there any reason to think these are any different than the ones Oako's sells?

cody 2006-06-06 12:47 PM

Well, I bought them. ^^^

Part number and Stock number were the same.

tysonK 2006-06-06 01:47 PM

super.

cody 2006-06-06 01:49 PM

...dooper pooper scooper?

Joeyy 2006-06-06 07:32 PM

Getting that yellow breast ready to chase my little grey wagon aye? :P

cody 2006-06-06 07:49 PM

:D Yah, the yellow is so hot, I have to run colder plugs. :p

Kevin M 2006-06-06 08:20 PM

Chase? As I recall, Cody won ESP the 2 times he ran it this year. ;)

It's OK, he has cream for that now

cody 2006-06-06 10:47 PM

Oh Jeez.

Joeyy 2006-06-07 03:13 PM

Won ESP past tense. I was talking about the future events. :P

You got anything up your sleeve? I saw you talking about Tein Flex coilovers. :)

Joeyy 2006-06-07 03:41 PM

I don't think dumping money into the wagon will fix my problem (yellow wagon). I'm going down the path of YOGA. I will be one with my accelerater, light on my brakes and smooth with my clutch. Plus my YOGA teacher is hot.

cody 2006-06-07 03:43 PM

That sounds better than my frantic stabbing inputs.

Joeyy 2006-06-07 04:56 PM

I'm also "waxing" it alot, ha.

cody 2006-06-07 05:15 PM

I hope you're using the SP legal wax! :P

I have a new Crucial stick4r....so look out!

Joeyy 2006-06-07 06:12 PM

Crucial Stick? Don't know what that is, must me a secret weapon. :D

Kevin M 2006-06-07 06:35 PM

Man, I wish someone in my class was competitive enough to be worth talking trash to. :(

cody 2006-06-07 06:50 PM

...Sticker. ;)

Dude, didn't you beat my raw times at Stead both days...in a fat chick car?

Joeyy 2006-06-07 07:33 PM

I figured if a little trash talk would me fun and if you have to pick somebody to talk trash, who better than a person that can TALK ALOT.

Yeah, but I'm supposed to. Higher PAX... because they don't factor in pasenger weight. :(

cody 2006-06-07 08:47 PM

May I ask what your mods are Kevin?

Kevin M 2006-06-08 07:00 AM

Flyin' Miata springs, KYB AGX, Racing Beat front sway, 15x7 Ultraleggeras.

cody 2006-06-08 07:01 AM

So you're beating me with somthing like half the horsepower? :(

Kevin M 2006-06-08 07:22 AM

On a really good day, I have something like 105 to the wheels. I think it's closer to 95 right now though. That motor is tired.

cody 2006-06-08 07:25 AM

On my latest log at this elevation (65*F) I'm putting 200HP/210TQ to the wheels according to Ed's road dyno. So yah, pretty much.

Shit.

Actually, my miata is a pretty heavy example of the species. 2540 pounds (me included) in Club Trial trim, 1/2 tank of gas.

cody 2006-06-08 08:14 AM

Hmm, maybe covering the entire inner surfaces of my front doors with Dynomat Extreme wasn't the best idea then.

Really, that's slow. My RS made 200 to the wheels on west 4th street at 65*... ;)

What motor did you have in that bitch?

Kevin M 2006-06-08 08:36 AM

EJ251 w/Cobb intake, Borla header, custom catback, and uhh, custom software. :D

JonnydaJibba 2006-06-08 08:46 AM

You had 7 there before... so I was trying to find out but I can't find where the different numbers come from. Like I know I have an ej25x (x is da variable) and I've seen ej253, ej257, but I don't know what the last numbers mean. an ej251 is from a JDM car?

I know, horribly off topic, thought about taking it to pm but...meh.

Kevin M 2006-06-08 09:00 AM

No, EJ251 is a stock RS EJ25. Phase II SOHC. EJ257 is the USDM turbo 2.5 motor. EJ253 is (I think) the Phase I DOHC motor.

Kevin M 2006-06-08 09:00 AM

Also, I'm being facetious.... I once made a 200 whp road dyno just to prove a point about reading dyno results to compare numbers. ;)

The thing I love the most about that photo is that anyone else who uses it already has my response staring at them :p

Dang, that was quick. They're here already. Now if my UP gaskets only get here by Friday, I'm going to have me some good old fun in the garage on Saturday.
