How well can you identify cars?
|
After 5 minutes, I got 24/50.
|
Damn, some of those are rough.
I've got about half of them right now. EDIT: 32/50 before I gave up. |
Damn.
I managed 21/50 after about 10 minutes. |
I'm at 27, some of these I'm clueless on though.

33/50
I give up  |
I got up to 38, but without Googling or just straight up guessing I don't think I'll ever get the rest. Damn European cars.
|
27/50 I give up.

I got to 40/50 after 5 or 10 minutes... I got stuck on: 9 (looks like a late 70's Italian rear-engine car) [edit: got it... I had the vintage close and car type close, but not the manufacturer] 12 (I thought it was another beetle, but it's not quite right) [finally got it w/ Aaron's hints] 15 (looks JDM... like a Honda mini-suv?) [edit: got it now] 17 (I don't know my cars from the 50's) [edit: got it, nick's hint made me realize I just spelled it wrong] 24 (the only thing that crossed my mind was "Caterham 7", but those have lights over the suspension). [edit: got this too] Here's what I did get: 1 Volkswagen Beetle 2 Lotus Elise 3 Subaru Impreza (so hard!) 4 Ford Focus (took some guessing, I thought the wheels looked like SRT-4's) 5 Ford Escort (that was a tough one, since that vintage escort was never sole in the US) 6 Mini Cooper 7 Porsche 914 (easy!) 8 Lamborghini Murcielago (had to look up the spelling) 9 Ford GT-40 10 McLaren F1 11 Pagani Zonda 12 Morris Minor 13 Mercedes SLR 14 Rolls Royce Phantom (I dunno how I pulled that one out of my ass!) 15 Citroen Saxo (it took a hint from Nick for the mfgr, and a google image search for the model) 16 Ferrari Testarossa (though I think it may be a 512TR...) 17 Austin Mini (I friggen typed "Austen" and thought I must be wrong!) 18 Jaguar E-Type (top 5 best looking cars ever!) 19 Porsche Cayman 20 Ferrari Enzo 21 Lancia Delta Integrale (I know what it was, but I took a while to put that last 'e' on Integrale) 22 Volkswagen Golf (guessed volkswagen, then guessed golf...) 23 Ferrari F40 24 Citroen 2CV (again Nick for the make, but GT4 knowledge for the model!) 25 Renault 5 Turbo (one of my favorites!) Edit: I got #9. Edit: Got #17 due to Nick's hint. |

Edit: I'm missing 10,11,14,17,18, and 24. |

You are going to kick yourself for not getting #9

Stuck with 29/50...

I was on the same track as Scott with Shelby marque. And when I finally got it, I wanted to kick my own ass. |
It was actually the first car I thought of with a huge side scoop.
11 and 18 are killing me, because I know that I've seen them before. 14,17, and 24 I really have no idea. I figured 17 was a VW Thing, but I was wrong. |
14 is weird. I knew it right away, but I couldn't tell you why, or whats really distinguishing about the picture.

11 is Italian 18 is a car extremely famous for it's looks, and has been used as inspiration for many more modern cars |
Also, if it helps any Khail, I don't think 17 or 24 ever came to the states. Though, both are pretty famous in motorsports.

Lets see, I missed 4, 6, 10, 12, 13 (missed the model only), 17, 21 (got the make, got half the model too, but didn't type the whole name in properly), 23, 24, 25. This was all before I gave up and just IM'd the master :p |
Nick, how bout a hint for 12, 15 or 24?
|
12, uh, I already forgot. Doh.
15 and 24 are French and the same make. They've both participated in rallying, but I don't think ever at the top level of the WRC. |
For 12, it's basically the only car I know of that sort of looks like a Beetle. But boxier.

Okay, I got 15 and 24... the French hint led me to 'em.
|
For 12, it's British, and it was the UK "people's car" that preceded the Mini.
|
For 24, it's the cheapest car ever made, and it was designed that way.

The guy who designed the Mini designed #12 more than a decade prior.
|
Here's another hint. Austin, who made the Mini, was on of BMC's brands. This car was made by one of their other brands.
Lemme know when you give up :) |
