Converting Word doc to image file...
How can I convert a Word doc. to an image file like .gif or .jpg? I searched for freeware but only found trial stuff. I am designing a logo and ended up with features that don't convert to html, so I figure I can make an image file out of it.
Maybe a better question would be what's the best (free or cheap) way to create a logo? |
Um, push the printscreen button on you keyboard, and paste into mspaint? (Or find someone that knows their way around Illustrator and get it done the proper way...) ;)
|
alt-prt scrn, paste into your pirated copy of photochop?
|
Damn, too slow.
|
Duh! You's guys are teh best!
Now... how do I program my BetaMax VCR? Oh.. and set the clock on my microwave? |

Push "clock" and type the time on the key pad... push "clock" again to save. |
It's pretty ragged looking. Is that normal for Word or Paint?

I'm doing all my HTML programming in this kewl software that's perfect for this sorta thing - it's called "MS Word". Any tips, Scott?

I liked Scott's - maybe a little too stylized for the 'K", but I picked my font to copy SUBARU's. I bet it will soon have an oval and some stars in there somewhere. ;) Then I can hire a lawyer to defend it...
I wanted it to be "KS Engineering" originally, since I are engineer. But since my PE lapsed many moons ago I cannot legally have the word engineer or engineering in my company's name. I'm still trying to figure out what the KS stands for. Quote:

This board has (for better or worse) become somewhat cliquish between those that participate in person vs. those that participate online only. Granted some people aren't local, but the majority of people are, and lots of them make the effort to come out and get to know everyone in person... once that's happened I think people realize those of us that seem harsh online aren't really quite that bad, and the regulars tend to chill out on the n00bs because of their effort. It's easy to be harsh online to someone you don't know in person... so if you're not personally known be the majority, you gotta have a little thicker skin than perhaps otherwise. Hell, look at Cody... I don't think anyone on here had a harsher time as a n00b, but he soldiered on though it, and I think he's pretty well won everyone over. Now everyone that give him shit is just joking around w/ a friend, rather than hazing a n00b. Anyway, I figured 100% would fit in just fine w/ the rest of the "regulars" if he came out to a few meets. But then that whole thing w/ the wing went down and I think he took it for harsher commentary than was actually intended, and we haven't seen him since. |

Once I came to terms with the fact that you guys are just really good at flaming (and hey, when you're good at something, milk it for all it's worth) I learned to just laugh it off. Everyone is really cool once you meet them in person. Kevin's the only one who is a jerk in person too.
J/K Kevin. But BTW, the slightly taller and stiffer springs did make a big difference keeping the rear tires from rubbing. :) |
I'm nice on the internet and a jerk in person. Or at least that's what my wife tells me!

from what you stated in your message... i think it would be something like this. yet my mind will roam until I see the sketch you were talking about.

The first one is pretty damn nice, but I think it's too blatant a trademark violation.
The second one is more what I was looking for. KST a little bigger in the oval and more prominent. When the words come out the side I didn't literally mean for it to look like it was bursting out - lol. Italics for the lettering and space the letters closer. Maybe move the stars around to be in the background of the oval. The big star perhaps shining behid the K in the background. But I'm not picky. |
^draw me the picture in your mind. it will be easier for me and faster for you.

Also, you need to think in terms of simplicity for the logo. If you can't cut it out of single color vinyl, you're either limiting your advertisement possibilities, or you're spending 5 times as much money for printed vinyl. Photoshop style effects look sweet, and can always be applied to raster versions of the logo, but the starting point should be vector based, simple, and recognizable. |
Excellent points, Scott...

Those are knuckles Silly Head.

I'd be glad to represent the accuracy of the image above, by showing you my bloody knuckles after a day of wrenching... :D
|
Shit, my knuckles get bloody just looking at my car. :P

I think I've only bloodied my knuckles like 4 times, and that's counting my days on tanks. I'm just smarter than all of you I guess.
