SECCS stickers

i know it has been a long time since the seccs stickers were ordered, but maybe its time to order some more, i have no problem paying for some. does anyone else share this interest with me?
thanks, guys

and to those of you veterans, if you dont want to see some of the noobs to seccs sporting the logo, maybe we can get "member since...." etc. just my .02 cents

MPREZIV 2008-06-28 08:59 PM

Scott was working on it, like a year ago, and frankly, LIFE got in the way.

Jeikun 2008-06-28 11:04 PM

although I haven't been at the meetings, I'd totally buy one of those stickers.

I keep getting wednesday off rather than thursdays... but if you're ever in the downtown renown, stop by the Shops at Renown and get some ice cream from Ben + Jerrys. Odds are that I'll be there... >.>

Dewey 2008-06-29 08:47 AM

hey Cory, i thought you were going to change your sig to "Buying that Evo was the biggest mistake I have ever made." -Robby Hub

wrxkidid 2008-06-29 11:00 AM

You are one funny guy, but yes i was heard saying that.

4g63t is still a bullet proof swap for your car cory.

That's just lame.

Cory won't respond to people who spell his name wrong.

MPREZIV 2008-06-29 04:51 PM

 Bob you KILL me sometimes!

Yeah, I thought about changin' the sig, but I REALLY like the Frizbytarian quote from RS25...

JonnydaJibba 2008-06-30 08:20 AM

Stickers? What?

Dewey 2008-06-30 08:24 AM

well, back to the topic, who is the one that would order some more of the seccs stickers? im definitely interested.

JonnydaJibba 2008-06-30 08:33 AM

Nobody orders them. Somebody makes them. And some people don't have the extra time for making them. So maybe you should make them.

Dewey 2008-06-30 09:02 AM

ill look into it

Dewey 2008-06-30 09:40 AM

is anyone able to get me a template? i have been working on one... but it doesnt look right. if i can get a template i would be more than happy to make stickers for everyone.

Please do not attempt to change or create your own sticker design. I've already done all that.

The problem is that stickers cost hundreds of dollars to get made, and we don't have the club funds to float that cost or have the time to manage a bunch of pre-paid orders to raise the funds prior to having the stickers made. I was working on getting a plotter of my own to be able to do small as-needed runs so the cost to float is just that of material, but the plotter I hooked up won't work, and I never got the time to try to resolve the issue.

understood.

100_Percent_Juice 2008-07-08 08:31 PM

I have a full size cad cutter that will cut any vinyl you shove into it. I would be willing to cut them out and everything for the cost of vinyl used. Like Scott said, this has been talked about at length. Things just come up and it gets thrown on the back burner.

Shoobie 2008-07-09 12:09 AM

I would like a sticker if anyone gets around to making them.

bign 2008-07-09 07:08 AM

I know somebody that has a sticker making business. I don't mean some guy who makes them in his back yard either. It is an actual shop and that is basically all he does. If you have a computer file already done up I might be able to get them made pretty cheap. If you charge people a buck for a sticker it would probably end up being very little money if any.

JonnydaJibba 2008-07-09 07:52 AM

Hey wow maybe I can get a decal finally... 3 years later.

cody 2008-07-09 07:56 AM

I'd pay $2 even! :o

MattR 2008-07-09 09:18 AM

Every time the word Sticker is typed on this site, the stickers are pushed back another month. Right now, the ETA is october of 2016.

wrxkidid 2008-07-09 09:53 AM

Nice! Just in time for my 27th birthday! AH!!!! That means I will be as old as Cory is now! I don't like that.

JonnydaJibba 2008-07-09 10:31 AM

So, Scott is gonna give somebody the file that is the template for these and we can buy them for dollars?! Let's freakin do it already.

That wasn't very nice. Didn't your mother ever teach you to not wish death upon people? Its bad manners.

JonnydaJibba 2008-07-09 12:37 PM

I think wishing death upon people was apart of Cory's dinner prayers.

cody 2008-07-09 12:50 PM

I'm pretty sure any Mr. Garrison quote makes a good prayer.

bign 2008-07-09 02:25 PM

 there may be some back story here that I am missing...

If you really do want to make them I can get a quote from my friend and see what's up. Just let me know.

JonnydaJibba 2008-07-09 02:30 PM

The back story is somebody has been (understandably) too busy to have new ones made. But there is a link to a different thread with the design on page 1. You sound like you aren't busy, so I'm sure with Scott's permission (I believe he designed them) you could make some.

MPREZIV 2008-07-09 03:23 PM

Basically, it's been discussed about a million times, like John said, and discussing it more isn't going to do anything but probably piss off the person/people who have control over it... who've already responded in this thread.

Like MattR said, it's just making matters worse...

wrxkidid 2008-07-09 08:46 PM

and Cory talks a lot of smack he cant back up so I try to keep him in his place.

Oh off topic but Cory I might be getting another car with a 4g63t in it :)

Dean 2008-07-09 09:16 PM

The only way stickers will ever be made is if I say there is no way it will ever happen. That has the remotest possibility of motivating Scott just enough to do it, just so I won't be right... ;)

Having crank walk withdrawals?

wrxkidid 2008-07-09 10:31 PM

Yea somethin like that.

bign 2008-07-10 12:59 AM

oh good lord... somebody send me a template

Bob Danger 2008-07-10 01:39 AM

Dammit people patience is a virtue. When Scott feels like making stickers he will, or if he decides he doesn't want to he'll ask someone to. Your relentless nagging isn't helping, it's just pissing me off, and it's a waste of good internet.

Yeah he really should quit. Every time Robby talks trash on the internet a fairy steals his wallet.

bobby clear your pm box bitch!

doubleurx 2008-07-10 08:02 PM

I'm still convinced it was the extra weight of those damn stickers that fried my '03 wrx's tranny at Fernley (certainly not my shifting) and then later the glue that holds those stickers to the window induced some sort of screwed up trance that made me trade in my STI. Damn those stickers, Damn them to Hell!

definitely wouldn't be a bad idea...

NevadaSTi 2008-07-11 08:49 AM

Oh crap, I think you are right. My car was one of the last cars to get a pair of available stickers! Damn, and I sold the stickers to Pete for a lot of money. He got the car for free!

Dean 2008-07-11 09:08 AM

Man, I should sell my spares from the original run.

I have a left and right slant. (Which Scott has said he isn't doing any more but I think are the best ones.) and two straight ones... in Slate gray.

Bidding starts at $100 for the left / right pair and $20 each for the straight ones. :)

I had some of the oversize black ones, but gave them all away I think at the Solo Nationals a few years back..

Cool, loan me $600 to cover the cost of getting them made and I'll get you a whole stack. Then show up to every meet for the next 2 years with a laptop and an inventory spreadsheet to manage selling them and get your $600 back. :P

I think you guys underestimate the work involved. I want stickers too, but I'm not giving out the club's intellectual property to someone to go get them made... I'm only going to deal directly with the sticker maker myself so I have a guarantee on the quality of the stickers and a legal contract between SECCS and the sticker shop (currently, only MattR and I are legally representatives of the not-for-profit company known as SECCS). Also, I'm not going to float the cost for them out of pocket (I've done it before... if I'm going to spend that kind of money again, I'm just going to buy my own cutter), and I don't have the time to manage a bunch of pre-orders to collect money up front, or the time to do the eventual inventory tracking after they're made.

As soon as someone that comes to all the meets on a regular basis steps up to handle the inventory issues, all the wishing and complaining in the world isn't going to procure stickers.

Dewey 2008-07-11 09:14 AM

ill give ya 10 for a straight one :)

thats completely understandable. sorry for underestimating the matter.

MattR 2008-07-11 09:18 AM

I found that I have a set of Original L/R slanted Blue stickers. I'm saving them for our new car though.
