I have an extra set of wheels I'm looking to sell. Custom Powder- Coated Bronze in Color, these are 17" x 8.5" Wheels with a +48 Offset. I have always used these as track wheels, but these would be great for Auto-x, track or even daily drivers. These wheels now have no tires on them and are ready to go to someone in need of some new wheels. Let me know, asking $800

szucchet 2009-02-22 01:55 PM

i might be interested. i am saving money for a set of wheel and does are good looking, i let you know when i have cash.

MattR 2009-02-22 02:09 PM

Well, these do look really good on a silver car!

szucchet 2009-02-22 02:37 PM

do you have any pix of them on your car?

Kevin M 2009-02-22 03:23 PM

Oooooo... man, it's a good thing I'm not going to the track this year, or I'd have to spring for these.

Take some 17x7.5 Rotas with low offset in trade? :p

MattR 2009-02-22 09:10 PM

Sorry, Can't find any shots of them on the car.

Birdman 2009-02-23 10:30 AM

Do you know if these will clear a set of AP racing 8 pot 330mm /6 pot 330 rear big brakes? If so i am pretty interested!!

If they clear stock STi Brembos, they likely also clear the 332mm StopTechs, which in turn are likely similar in size to the AP's. So by the transitive property of me making shit up, they have an 88% chance of clearing. ;)

See if AP has the dimension diagram of the caliper in section like Stoptech does, and compare the two. If it's not noticeably farther from the hub face to the outer edge of the caliper (at the inner wheel spoke surface) they should clear.

MattR 2009-02-23 09:06 PM

I don't know but you're welcome to come by and try one on. They look to clear the Brembos by a lot.

sperry 2009-02-23 11:47 PM

Found some pics for you Matt:

(They're your own attachments!)

MattR 2009-02-24 06:31 AM

Thanks, they are bronze now, that is what they look liked in sliver though.

Really? They look the same color on my monitor (a gray-ish bronze).

Birdman 2009-02-24 11:09 AM

It looks like the front 8 pot is 139mm thick and 261.4mm long, the rear 6 pot is 139.9mm thick and 246mm long. I would totally try one on but the car hasent been put together yet, i have aquired a mass of parts for this project i have oversunk myself into. It started out as a ,Oh i'm just going to to a few simple things to, now this is turning into a back up car for my Redline time attack seriec in a diffrent class, then meaning i am now building a car to compete in awd modified and will be already competing in awd Unlimited. Not if i didn't have already enough to focus on, season starts end of march!!! Damn car addiction!!!

MattR 2009-02-24 02:56 PM

Well, do you have a brake assembly or hub to try?

szucchet 2009-02-25 01:49 PM

does any body know how much these wheels weigh or in comparison to stock 04 sti wheels?

18x8.5 57S's are 20 lbs... so the 17x8.5's are probably a little bit less. For comparison, the '05 STi BBS's (forged 17x8s) are 19.2 lbs. I'd guess they're about the same.

For reference: http://www.wheelweights.net/

MattR 2009-02-27 03:46 PM

Someone should totally but these wheels. Reduced to $850! I'll even deliver them locally! Ha!

pike 2009-02-27 08:39 PM

would you happen to want silver 04 sti bbs's with re01r's with about 55% tread left? Wheels are in good condition, no curb rash.

100_Percent_Juice 2009-02-27 09:13 PM

PIKE GTFO!

Just kidding. I would totally buy these if I had the money. These wheels are totally awesome.

Ooooh, 5x100 BBS. I'll take them if you'll sell them crazy cheap and give me like 5 months to pay.

MattR 2009-03-11 01:54 PM

Bump, still looking for a new home.

cody 2009-03-11 02:38 PM

If these were black, I'd be forced to buy them. Damn.

Yes, except for the parts about "dismount" "doing a good job" and "remount"

cody 2009-03-11 03:04 PM

Actually... black wheels are played out. I'd be really interested to see what bronze on yellow would look like. You might be a trend setter!

sybir 2009-03-11 03:11 PM

Trendsetter, yep.

http://www.subaru-sti.co.jp/s202/image/styling.jpg

Agreed. Pull the trigger!

MattR 2009-03-11 04:10 PM

Yes, pull the goddam trigger.

cody 2009-03-11 04:14 PM

Do they look different in person or is the color in the pics in the first post fairly acurate, in your estimation?

Doesn't Matt live like 5 minutes from your house? Go have a look! :p

cody 2009-03-11 04:23 PM

^Somebody ban this guy.

:P Does Matt live 5 minutes from Stead?

Nick Koan 2009-03-11 04:25 PM

I would say that the color is fairly accurate in the pictures. The bronze on those Gram Lights is not quite as 'bronzy' as the Rota bronze. Its lighter, more gray and a little bit more matte.

Dean 2009-03-11 04:41 PM

His house is over off sparks blvd on teh way to spanish springs as I recall.

If you are interested, I would suggest going over and even test fitting them on one front and one rear wheel.

That way you know they fit and how they look. Just as a point of reference, they hit my cloilovers, but that is because I have the large 50mm inverted DMSs and the 48mm offset is quite a bit more than I use.

MattR 2009-03-11 05:08 PM

Yeah , pm me if you want to check them out

100_Percent_Juice 2009-03-11 05:16 PM

Cody will probably chicken out. Like that time he was suppose to get circumcised.

cody 2009-03-11 06:24 PM

 You're probably right. I need a lower offset rim when I man up anyway.

100_Percent_Juice 2009-03-11 08:21 PM

You need 18x9 +35 wheels like this guy.

18x10, yikes?

100_Percent_Juice 2009-03-11 09:07 PM

^Oh yeah, his old wheels were 18x9. I think it looks awesome.

cody 2009-03-11 09:23 PM

It's ridiculous. I mean it does look good and all, but it's the definition of impractical.

So it looks bad, drives bad, is unsafe, and impractical. But hey, 18x10 on a wagon... Hella flush brodawg!

I got about 4 replies in on that thread before I couldn't read any more. Oh, and those HDR shots added so much to the thread!

(But for the record I'd love 10" wide wheels on my racecar, but on mine they wouldn't rub and they'd have 285 r-comps on 'em)

MattR 2009-12-26 01:01 PM

Bump. Wheels back on the market, I've removed the tires, looking to unload the wheels on their own. Priced at $800 now.

norbeaster 2009-12-28 09:31 AM

man, your killing me.

MattR 2009-12-28 10:19 AM

Sorry Norbeaster...things change quickly. They have no tires on them now.

norbeaster 2009-12-30 08:41 AM

Haha, I just wish I still had the $.

MattR 2010-01-17 03:44 PM

Bump! Still available if anyone is looking for some excellent wheels.
