Selling good things!

1. My front and rear brakes for others that will fit. Basically a deal where you give me cash and your brakes (assuming they fit properly and are in good condition). Since I know nothing about brakes i'm posting this for you guys from Wiki.

The more powerful brake system for the 06-07 WRX employs 11.5 in (292 mm) vented front discs and now uses four-piston calipers instead of the previous versions two-piston calipers. The rear brakes are all new, with 11.3 in (287 mm) ventilated discs replacing the previous 10.3 in (262 mm) solid discs, and two-piston calipers replacing single-piston calipers. The calipers are painted red with the SUBARU name in white overlain.

2. Dark Gray/Urban gray STI trunk. Another situation where i'm trading for stock wrx part and cash.

3. 10" Sony Xplode sub.

4. Enkei G5 wheels in very nice shape! Size is 17" and brand new these wheels still sell for 800-1k for all 4 and they came out 3 years ago. I'm looking for stock wrx wheels and cash. If anyone doesn't know what the G5 wheels are I can post pictures but they are black and silver/grey.

Anything people think they want on the car can look at it but nothing is aftermarket besides what I posted and the HKS Hi Power which is already sold.

Keep the offers reasonable as I need the money to move in a couple weeks, so this isn't a case where I can negotiate low.

sperry 2010-04-29 09:05 AM

I'm confused... you're looking to downgrade the stock brakes on your WRX for cash?

Libila 2010-04-29 09:46 AM

I'll take you up on that brake swap. I've got stock L brakes.

Yes because the stock brakes are worth alot more than older WRX's on the 06-07. I know it seems stupid but I need the money and the dealership is going to rip us off on trade in anyways by lowballing and offering wholesale value of like 7k-8k. So I'll take everything I can to make a profit... as long as my car is running.

Will they fit? I should of specified i'm mainly expecting WRX owner brake swaps from the bug eye and peanut eye models. I suppose if we test and it works well that's fine. What's your offer for all 4? I think Austin just sold his front 2 for 400 plus

Kevin M 2010-04-29 11:01 AM

Older L brakes will be very obviously not the right brakes on your car. I'd stick to bugeye-size rotors if at all possible.

Sorry for cock-blocking the deal Tim.

Clippersfan86 2010-04-29 11:02 AM

Haha thanks Kevin. Damnit Tim! Don't mess with me, I don't know crap about the value of brakes or sizing. Yea Kevin i'm mainly looking for bug eye or peanut owners to swap and cash. Good lookin out. I miss this forum lol. It's been so hectic and stressful around here lately I haven't even had anything to talk about car wise.

Not that anyone cares but wish me well guys. I'm moving to Salt Lake City in 2-3 weeks. Lower cost of living, way more jobs, nicer people. Plus they have a ton of insanely pretty girls! Anyone ever went to SLC?

100_Percent_Juice 2010-04-29 11:07 AM

How much cash were you thinking? Send me a pm.

100_Percent_Juice 2010-04-29 11:09 AM

We should also trade center consoles.

Plus the whole killing the next owner because they don't have brakes adequate to the horsepower of the car.

Also, I don't think the 4/2-pot WRX brakes are worth "a lot more" than the regular WRX brakes. Seems like a crap load of work to do just to put ~$100 in your pocket, especially if the dealer you're trading it in to notices and now you have to run around trying to get your brakes back.

Clippersfan86 2010-04-29 11:24 AM

They actually are worth alot more than 100 bucks.. that I know for damn sure. I can care less about the dealer lmao. I've traded in about 5 cars. They run the vin, do a physical inspection on the body, check the mileage. They don't even test drive it 90 percent of the time. The dealer is out to screw me and the owner of the car before me did alot of shady crap... so I don't really feel any guilt. Of course i'm not going to put insanely bad brakes or anything ;p. Just want to make cash for my move.

LOL you want the gay chameleon paint the last owner did on center console? Or the clock pod that says "Ass bag" because P burned out.

Oh that reminds me... I also have a nice CD player Sony faceplate if anyone wants to trade one.

GusGus91 2010-04-29 11:32 AM

Joel you don't want his center console unless you plan to repaint it. It's god awful. But if I had the stock click there I'd take the thing that says ass bag lol

100_Percent_Juice 2010-04-29 11:35 AM

Fine then. I will trade you center consoles straight up. It will add value to your trade in.

Clippersfan86 2010-04-29 11:37 AM

HAHA. Sorry Joel that was funny. I can totally see the dealer saying "What's up with the sparkle chameleon paint? This doesn't look OEM".

100_Percent_Juice 2010-04-29 11:41 AM

I'm being totally serious about trading center consoles. Where is Rob when I need him.

Clippersfan86 2010-04-29 11:42 AM

Check your PM Joel.

szucchet 2010-04-29 01:06 PM

what are you going to get since your trading in you wrx?

Clippersfan86 2010-04-29 01:09 PM

In SLC i'll probably buy an older Jeep Wrangler when I get a job. That way I can pay pure cash. Now I know why people avoid car payments if they are smart with money lol. My Insurance is 200 a month and car itself 260 a month. Just buying a car outright will save me like 350 bucks because insurance is high on WRX's. I REALLY want a 5.0 mustang GT to build myself.... but they aren't reliable for the bad snow Utah can get.

I have 0 points. I had 3 but they all fell off my record finally this year! Yay for me. You also have an STI chris... which I think is like an extra 50-100 bucks a month at least.

Yea I know! Mines only $260 a/mo. But yea.. Mike sell joel your center console..

Clippersfan86 2010-04-29 04:24 PM

Lol. Is it a big job? I don't want to do anything that can really mess crap up and cause problems since like I said i'm not the only owner of the car.

Kevin M 2010-04-29 05:34 PM

Guys, you really can't compare insurance premiums without basically posting your entire policy detail.

Clippersfan86 2010-04-29 06:05 PM

I can't find my midpipe. Do you guys think the dealership will have a problem if you turn a car in open DP? I don't see why they would care.

stichris 2010-04-29 06:46 PM

yea im sure they will care

I'm 18 with 2 points on my record. That's actually lower than it used to be.

van 2010-04-29 08:03 PM

My insurance for two cars, one that's fast, just went down to $62

Did you seriously just say that? The thought of spending an entire day swapping a set of brakes for a couple hundred bucks excites you and yet you are apprehensive about spending 30min swapping a center console for one that looks less messed with.

:amused:

What do you mean sell it? I would be doing him a favor the way you describe it.

 I didn't even notice he said that. It's super easy mike.

I guess it's not so bad being 33. I've crashed my car 3 times and received 3 tickets (one for 125mph), but since they're all off my record now...and my car is old, $90/mo for full coverage.

100_Percent_Juice 2010-04-29 09:17 PM

What did the cop say when you got pulled over for $125?

"WHAT WERE YOU THINKING!?"

100_Percent_Juice 2010-04-29 09:22 PM

"WHERE ARE YOUR PANTS?"

Not apprehensive Joel. Like I said before... it's not my car alone so the things i'm selling are ALL added by me besides the brakes or came on the car aftermarket. My ex may have a problem since the car is in her name and i'm just a Co. LOL.

100_Percent_Juice 2010-04-29 11:07 PM

Take that idea about the brakes and forget about it. If the dealer sees that you have messed with the brakes they will either not want the car or give you a lot less for it. That is a safety item. The center console is cosmetic and yours is painted a funky color which will also make them give you less money since they (in most cases) will have to fix that before it can be sold.

Clippersfan86 2010-04-30 06:45 AM

The things dealers care about is mileage, make, model and condition of body. They don't know about the car itself. I doubt the Toyota dealership sales guys are going to say hmmm doesn't the 06-07 wrx come with red brakes? They rarely even know about their own cars ; \.

Kevin M 2010-04-30 09:19 AM

Before it goes on sale though, the service department goes through it. Sometimes those guys aren't stupid. Besides, your car is going to end up in someone's hands, so that's who you're really screwing assuming the dealership doesn't notice or doesn't fix what's wrong with it.

If you're getting a shitty deal, just go to a different dealer.

bigrobwoot 2010-04-30 09:28 AM

Just swap VIN numbers with an STi. Then the dealer will give you a lot more money for it.

Damn everyone and their 'it screws the next guy' posts .. I want to swap cd players as mine is having issues ejecting Cds , and sometimes keeps saying ERR instead of playing them. but likely the dealer will miss that item not working and it just screws the next buyer....

Think i'm paying $100 a month for two cars with 300K/100K/50K coverages (no collision or comprehensive) i've been cited 16 points in the last 3 years so it costs too much for full coverage on the STI , and i will hopefully total the rally car in a rally so i wouldn't be filing a claim anyways.
