I Need a spare 225/45-17
OK, it turns out the donut spare on the A4 won't fit over either set of brakes on the car, so one of the spare Full Size wheels gets to be a spare. I probably should have checked that after putting them on, but hey, I had two full sets of tires mounted up at that point, so I didn't have to.
Anybody have a streetable 225/45-17 lying around their garage they want to get rid of? If not, I'll get a used one at one of the shops. |
You can burrow my sti spare if you'd like.

I saved one of my old re070s if you want it

Dean, Confirming you need a wheel or rubber? My Summer rubber is set for replacement this Spring. Three of them have "OK" tread on them. The forth has a slow leak due to a puncture. You are welcome to whatever you need if this will help. |
I can get you a potenza in that size, used but with pretty good tread. Great price..FREE!
|
Definitely a tire.
I have four empty rims, and the well on the A4 will hold a full size spare, so I may as well as use one. |

Nobody replaces summer rubber in the spring. :) Unless that puncture is in the sidewall, it can be patched. Run those summer tires until they are slicks, or at least below the wear bars a 3/32nds. |

I think they are close to that wear bar. You're welcome to come take a look if you wish. |
I've got 3 "spare" RT215's from oh 3 sets ago... they spent a few months in the backyard. You can have all 3 if you'd like.

I have a great set of Prodrive-7's 17" but i'm looking to sell them . :) i was keeping them for my STI (i had a WRX) but they don't fit over the brembo brakes  i have a buddy in florida who is intersted in them, but then i have to box them and ship them all the way out there. :( hmmf. well drop me a pm or something if interested.

Wow., you must not have read anything that Dean typed.
|
Did you ever get a tire, or are you still waiting for the perfect one?
|
Interesting first post.
|
no i definatly read " 225/45-17" actually i read I Need a spare 225/45-17 as
I Need spare 225/45-17, (as in a set of tires) :P and i read this Quote:

Which reminds me, Dean, I still have 3 RT-215's in 225/45-17 that would be useful as spares, but not much else. They're going to the recycler as soon as I clean out my garage (which is going to happen as soon as I get a free weekend) if you (or someone else that needs a spare or two) don't want 'em. |
as long as people get either enjoyment, or info out of my posts, which its definatly not the later on this thread ;) (just when i was about to maybe edit my post down, thinking to add an oops / sorry / (what is reading?)) lol but if i'm getting so many replies to missing a few key parts ... then . its definatly adding entertainment to someone :p
I may have a tire or 2 that would be a suitable 225/45/R17 2 are too bald, but the other 2 may have enough tread to be "street legal" they are some Yokamahas EVS 100s ?? . lmk ;) |
Haha, you're new so it's an easy target... :p No worries...
|
I think Dean(ezdno) is taking care of me. Thanks everybody.

Well, EZDNO, and IMPRZIV struck out. A1337STI, if you have one you want to get rid of, let me know. Sent you a PM.
Cory found that one of my well worn 215s for the WRX is F'd up, so I may have to throw the 615s on a bit early. I'd try one of Scott's well aged ones, but mine are only 6 months old even though they are almost bald. I don't know how that would work. I may be able to get one more track event out of the Hankooks, but they are thinner than the 215s. Not a good couple months for tires for me. 2 flats on the A4, F'd up 215... Oh well. |
Tires
Sure the tires up still up for grabs. they are 225/45/R17s (like your post asked for) not 215's i have 4 of them. 2 are in noticibly better shape , they are all on the rims still. :( i just like deflat them all the way and use a crow bar er something to get them off ? lol i'm a dummy when it comes to this stuff. if i can find my camera i'll try to put a pic up to show you the tread left (not much)
