Hankook Track tires dirt cheap...
Just found this deal. Probably not a great autocross tire, but should be fun to burn up at the track at these prices. http://www.frisbyracetire.com/z211sale.html
I'm going to try a set of 235s.. Note: you want to order from their Subsidiary in Las Vegas. http://www.sierratire.com/ These guys look like a decent in state source for other race tires as well. 225/50-15 $99 225/50-16 $110 225/45-17 $118 235/40-17 $118 275/40-17 $133 225/40-18 $163 285/35-18 $173 |
I have ordered RA-1s from those guys. They do a fine job, they also offer shaving if needed.

Well, these tires held up real well under some hard driving at Thunderhill. 165 Miles. Over 100 of them crammed into the afternoon on Day 2. Still tons of tread.
They stick very well. About the only cars faster in the corners were on Hoosiers and had coilovers or were full race cars. OK, teh driver may have something to do with it. :) They don't have the feedback of the 615s, but do not snap loose. They insides start making a little noise then outsides start increasing slip angles. I plan on buying a couple more sets to burn up. 235s clear the '04 STI rear fenders with stock strut and alignment on 17x8et45 wheels, but just barely. (Rubber strip removed) Here are some pictures. As you can see from the build up, they were warm ;) |
Nice, I wonder how long they will have those at such a good price....I still have a set of AO48's to burn up.
