Volk CE-28N 17 x 8.5: 5X100: +44 offset

Hey Everyone,
My time in Reno will soon be coming to an end, and thus I will be selling my Subaru and all related accessories. First up is a set of gold Volk CE-28N wheels with Nitto NT05 street tires. The wheels are 17 x 8.5, 5x100, +44 offset and weigh around 14 lbs each. They used and show signs of wear and tear, but ultimately they are round and balance without issue (tires were mounted by KSpeed last summer). I also have the Volk aluminum hub centric rings (56.1cm) to allow for perfect centering of the wheel on the hub. Tires are 255/40/17 (http://www.nittotire.com/Tire/nt05) and have literally less than 300 miles on them. I was planning on using them for autox last season, but as some may know those dreams didn't last long once my transmission blew at the first event. Once I had everything put back together, the season was basically over and these just ended up sitting in my garage. Volk carbon center caps will be included with the sale.

Price = $1650

I can deliver anywhere in the Reno/Carson/Tahoe area. Pics are below, but of course we can arrange a meeting if you'd like to see them in person. Thanks!
Ryan

That's a steal. I'd jump all over it if it wasn't for the fact that I am broke. And that I have a set of those already. But mostly the broke part, because the only thing better than owning a set of your favorite wheels ever, is owning two sets.

k-dogg39 2012-05-06 10:16 PM

Damn. I wish you had posted these a while ago before I bought mine. Any chance you would sell just the center caps? GLWS.

sybir 2012-05-06 10:39 PM

Kevin, I have Volk centercaps if you need them and Ryan doesn't want to break up his set.

Or I'll trade you white wheels ;)

Man... those things would be awesome on my wagon. But my wife would kill me for spending $1800 on wheels/tires. Plus, I've already been told "no gold wheels on the wagon!"

cody 2012-05-10 09:27 PM

Fuck!!!! Someone is gonna be so stoked with those.

Price dropped to $1650. Hoping for a local sale before these go off to NASIOC! Thanks
Ryan

If these were 17x9, and I had the money, they'd be sold.

cody 2012-05-24 10:51 AM

I'm dying here. Anyone want the tires? I can't fit them.

rory_a 2012-05-24 10:56 AM

If I didn't just pick up Scott's RE01Rs, I'd say yes.

cody 2012-05-24 11:01 AM

Shit. I'm gonna try to fit these on my wagon. My tires already rub just a touch so with wider wheels with a lower offset, they should rub even worse, when I mount the same 245/40's I run on 8" wide rims now.

My fenders are already rolled. Anyone think they can be rolled/pulled more to avoid the rubbing?

Ryan, YGPM.

rory_a 2012-05-24 11:03 AM

Yes.

If wagon peeps can tuck 18x9.5 +38 with 255/35/18, you can run these, creatively of course.

k-dogg39 2012-05-24 11:12 AM

Shit we should have test fit mine on yours when I was down there. I have the same size on my wagon right now with the 245/40/17 Starspecs. Took a bit of rolling and pulling the fenders. Inboard clearance in the rear was a little tough too... Cory can probably chime in on what it took, as I wasn't there when he mounted them and did my alignment.

cody 2012-05-24 11:31 AM

It could be tough on my car since i'm on stock size springs and my neg camber is maxed according to Cory. Apparently the h&r bolts don't provide as much range a the thinner camber bolts.

I run this same setup on my WRX w only rolled fenders :)

Must be nice to have OEM fender blisters. :P Do you have coilovers and camber plates too?

rory_a 2012-05-24 01:34 PM

Buy now, make room later.

cody 2012-05-24 01:46 PM

I'm thinking I will. I should definitely have 3 sets of 17's.

On Kevin's car, I ended up having to move the camber way positive at the knuckle, and then push the camber plate on his coil-overs full negative, in order to get the tire to clear the strut, and still give around -1.7* camber. THEN I had to stretch the crap out of the rear fender to keep them from rubbing.

I think it'd be tricky on your car, without camber plates...

cody 2012-05-25 07:19 AM

Thanks, Cory. I guess an amazing deal on wheels isn't really an amazing deal if you have to pour a bunch of money into the car just to make them fit. :(

k-dogg39 2012-05-25 08:12 AM

Don't be a pansy! :P:lol:

rory_a 2012-05-25 09:50 AM

You're at 17x8 +48 with (essentially) 255s currently. I looked into the NT05s and didn't read anything about them running wide.

Do you have so little available room that .25" on each side won't fit? (less on inside, more on outside)

cody 2012-05-25 12:38 PM

Yes. They rub on the fenders in the rear and the fender liners in the front. So I don't have any more room on either side with the current suspension/alignment/fender roll.

The clearance from stut housing to the inside of the wheel will be 2mm LESS
The outside edge of the wheel will EXTEND an extra 10mm

I don't think I'm going to be able to roll the fenders (more than they're already rolled) enough to make up for the extra cm that the outside edge of the tire will extend.

You could, but it wouldn't be a "roll" anymore... you'd be into "pull" territory. 'Course, if you were still up here in Reno, Cory's been getting a ton of practice lately pulling fenders. ;)
