ArthurS 2004-03-05 12:14 PM

Dean 2004-03-05 12:25 PM

It's just a lower reserve. I bet it will be up to 25K+ when the auction finishes...

ArthurS 2004-03-05 12:31 PM

If you notice, there is a 'Buy it now' option for 14,000$.

Very weird... Ah, This listing is restricted to pre-approved bidders or buyers only, and none appear to have been approved in the 5 hours it has been up...

MikeSTI 2004-03-05 12:59 PM

well I guess my thing would be if I have cash then I'm pre-aproved 8)

Dean 2004-03-05 01:04 PM

All the other STI VINs appear to start with JF1GD706... This one starts with JF1GG296

Wonder if that's an issue...

MikeSTI 2004-03-05 01:14 PM

now that you mention it....I think it might be a E-Bay scam!!!!! The car also shows Texas plates and the seller is in South Carolina the hole top is desription is off so you would deffinatly want to talk to someone and see it in person before buying anything

Even the O/D readings are off

ArthurS 2004-03-05 01:16 PM

Very Weird.

Dean your right...all STi VIN's are within this lines:

JF1GD706*4*******

ArthurS 2004-03-05 01:18 PM

SCAM -

That VIN belongs to a 2004 Subaru Impreza WRX Wagon (I checked my database).

He does have 100% feedback though. Wonder if he is a purchaser in a different state from where the car is, so he is just going off what someone else said.

Dean 2004-03-05 01:20 PM

Its a WRX VIN... Here is what came back for it and a real STI also on ebay... Notice the difference.

2004 Subaru Impreza WRX
4 Door Wagon
JF1GG296X4G802376

2004 Subaru Impreza WRX STi
Sedan 4 Door
JF1GD70634L521143

ArthurS 2004-03-05 01:25 PM

Some other interesting things are included:

Convertable!
Leather seats
Sunroof
CD Player (Although in the pictures there none!)

well if there getting ppl for $2000 a pop they might make some money  feel bad for the ones that dont look at the details ochie

Kevin M 2004-03-05 03:00 PM

Jeez folks, you act like you've never heard the Subaru chassis code system before. In a VIN, the first 3 digits (JF1) are universal for Subaru. The next 3 are the chassis code, i.e. GC8, GDB, or GGA. C'mon folks, it's not rocket science. :P

And Art, you way should have taken credit for knowing what the VIN was for considering you own one, rather than saying it was from the database. :D
