NEW Schroth Harnesses Cheap!!!(Now with link!)

Edit 4/27 for Autocontrol Info... Still many options in stock if you don't mind slightly off colors.

Prices can't be beat on some discontinued Schroth Harnesses! These are the same as I have in my Stealth, and are DOT streeet legal unlike the other 4 points.

$150 harnesses for $40+...

http://www.hmsmotorsport.com/store.p...hisPage=1#1512

At $40, at least you can get a right seat one for your instructor/passenger!

They are out of left seat Rallye 3 and 4s, but read on...

They have Autocontrols in left and right for $50.

With these, you have two options. Use them as is. For our cars, you may want to order:

s 00096 - Cut-off Switch $5.95 It lets you lock them for track use, or you can just unplug the electrics, or not hook them up in the first place. The later is what we did for Tyson's.

I would also suggest getting the gizmos that make it easier to pull on the belts.

s 00092 Adjuster Grips $9.95

So are we going to have an install fest for these things? :)

Sure... Harness day in Dean's driveway... (It's a big driveway.)

I really think we need to be Team SECCS this year. Everybody try and help each other out pit crewing, installing stuff, tuning.

I need to clean my garage and see how level it is so we can do alignments. Wouldn't it be great to show up and KNOW that dropping your car an inch and 2 full turns on each stearing rod gets you from street to track configuration?

Group SECCS.

I have one of those long levels well not that long but is a 3'-0" if you want to check your garage Dean?

JoelK 2004-03-18 10:46 AM

Hey Dean, my roommate has a '93 3000GT VR4, and I'm trying to talk him into getting a harness (at least for my side ;)), but he wants the same belt on both sides. Would the Auto-Control work for that? I imagine it's probably similar to your Stealth.

Yes, but you loose the rear seat shoulder belt, and you only need the lock, not the extension.

He could get the Auto-controls and the extra Rallye 4 tails if he wants to retain the rear seat belts. I have the Rallye 4s in my Stealth.

I've been in the 3000GT enough to know there isn't much purpose for a rear seat belt in that car. :)

I've got a homemade rig for measuring toe, and a camber gauge for alignments.

Also, the cheap Schroth harness are pretty well sold out. Matt got the last right hand one in blue. They've only got right hand yellow, purple and "multi-color" left at the cheap price. However, they stopped making those colors in left hand belts, so unless you've already got one of those colors, you're kinda ass-out for a matching set.

Looks like they need to update their web site... It still shows pink and purple auto-controls in lefts and rights...

Still some good deals to be had, just color is getting real limited, especially in the tails...

If I could have found a picture of "multi-color" I might have bought them. They sound cool. Very 70s.

Just placed my order online for a pair of purple autocontrolls. Did they tell you they are out of stock? Bummer. I guess I should have called them.

Ok, I called em. Plenty of purple belts in stock.

The autocontrolls are in stock, it's the Ralleye 3's that are out.. I guess I should have clarified.

Anybody got an upholstery sewing machine, or know someone who does?

It is possible to make a Right into a Left, but I need to re tack the top of the belts where it loops from left to right. This is not a structural stitching job, just a bit to keep the two sides apart and from slipping when tighthing.

OK, the buckle is going to be on the wrong side, but that is no big deal. The ASM will be on the correct side which is what is important.

Kostamojen 2004-03-24 04:09 PM

So all of the Rallye belts are out of stock for the left side? Im confused, its showing lots of different belts there...

There's very little in stock for the cheaper belts. However, they've got *everything* if you're willing to pay full price for the newer models.

You have to go into the Clearance Street stuff way on the right... This link might work better, but don't bet on it.

http://www.hmsmotorsport.com/store.p...be1a36ef4bbbdd
There are plenty of left and right Autocontrols left which can either be locked as mentioned above, or tails changed to Rallye 3 or 4.

The "Rallye Cross" really aren't approriae for our cars IMHO.

Dean 2004-04-27 09:21 PM

Bump for updated info in first post related to Autocontrols and Tyson's install.
