Buttonwillow AI race!
 

Well, I'm back from my first American Iron race weekend out at Buttonwillow. Our Maximum Motorsports #91 car placed 2nd in its second track weekend ever! Our driver, Mike, had an incredible drive up through the field on Saturday - he started second on grid, and when the pack went into the first turn on the first lap he got a little "tap" on the RR from a competitor, spinning out Mike into the dirt. Most of the entire AI/CMC field had gone by before he got the car flipped around, but he got back on track and charged up through the entire pack to finish second (behind the guy who tapped him). We have some great in-car video of the entire race. 8) All in all my first race weekend was a great experience, despite continuous problems getting the car to simply run right all weekend. I probably averaged 4-5 hours of sleep per night ever since we left Thursday night, because we were working on the car constantly day and night.
