Tail Lights for MY98 RS
 

:D :D :D I got some clear JDM tail lights for my car ( i dont really like the carbon fiber ones... reason being is that my car is red... ) so im kinda excited.. here is what they look like:

Ricer. And Fugly. And probably not much cheaper than REAL JDM tails, which you can get for just under $200 shipped.

Nate *has* a set of JDM taillights at the shop, for sale.

Those tailights above are the furthest thing from JDM. You are ruining a very, very unique car with common, Pep Boys-level accesories :|

don't listen to these people, those lights are hot. led, well chromed, you can't go wrong there.

anyone know if I could get these to fit a Legacy?

This would be a quick leason in - "if you like somthing buy it and forget what others think".

i just like it cuz they are completely clear. I haven't seen anyone else with somethin' like this... thats what makes me different. :D

The problem is, everyone else has seen somethin' like this before. On about a million Civics, Accords, Integras, Cavaliers, Sunfires, etc, and even the occational Subaru. You may think you're being unique, but you're actually being just like every one of those ricers out there that buy these things. Altezzas are basically the entry level mod into the world of rice... all you need now are washer-nozzle lights, and an unpainted body-kit.

I'm not trying to be harsh, I'm just calling it the way it is. The reason you don't see lights like that on Subarus is because the Subaru community in general is more about rally than the street racing "scene". That's why Morette style projectors are common on Subarus, but Altezza's aren't... that's why you rarely see a Subaru "slammed" on huge rims... that's why Subaru's get away w/ gold rims and hood scoops, but other cars are clowned on... etc.

Now, I don't wanna sound like someone that's trying to tell you what to do with your car. If you really love the way those things look, then throw 'em on there, and enjoy 'em! Modifiying a car should be a personal thing, and you should do things the way you want. Just remember that when you take a rare red '98 2.5RS and put Altezzas on the back, you'll be insulting a lot of the old-school Subaru fans.

IMO, the stock tails on your car are fine, and if you really want to change them, the only option is a set of JDM tails... but liek I said that's just my opinion.

I totally agree... i wasn't generalizing with like every 'ricer' type of car. i was just simply stating that the tail lights on the subaru will look "unique", becuase i doubt anyone has seen something like these here in reno. :D

I'm telling you, I, personally, me, with my own eyes, have seen those lights (Altezzas, "euro", "JDM", whatever it is you want to call them) on at least 1000 vehicles, here, in Reno, ranging from beat-ass Civics, to Ford F-150's, to Mustangs, to Lexus' that come from the factory with them... In all cases, I think the car looks much worse because of them... unique or not, on a Subaru or not... those are ugly taillights. :P

well... ill just have to get some better ones now ... but until then, i will call them: "Scott's Sacrifice" :lol:

Don't get new ones because I don't like 'em... I'm just trying to get you to understand why so many people will see them on your car and shake their head in disgust. :P

I propose we take up a collection to buy you the real JDMs that Nate's got at the shop (I'd hate for you to have to spend more money)... then take the Altezzas out and film them getting blown up by shotguns in the desert. I've got $20 on the tail-light fund! :twisted:

hahah... i wouldnt mind blowin them up :lol: :lol: ... but yea, totally understand. I got payed yesterday, ( weesly $300 ) so, who knows :wink:

and my fund is directed towards the car so really, im just another kid with money to blow... its not life threatining yet :lol:
