why imports suck..(according to "car craft" magazine)...
(v-8 guys) 1. us: keeping a low profile and letting the e.t.'s tell the story them:hoping the outrageous body kit will distract any one from mentioning e.t.'s 2.us: sideways into third gear them: sideways to aviod high-centering over a speed bump 3.us: boost gauge on a blown car, nitrous gauge on a squeezed car. them: both gauges on a n/a car 4.us: headers and a 3-inch exhaust them: stock pea shooter exhaust pipe with a 5 inch tip. 5. us: buying an aftermarket shifter for short throws them: buying after market shifter for the lighted knob 6. us: nitrous oxide them: "Noss" 7. us: installing a 12- piont roll cage after breaking into the 11's them:installing a 12- piont roll cage for more places to mount gauges. 8. us: doing a short burnout to warm the tires before a pass them: weaving from side to side because nascar racers do it. 9. us: installing subframe connectors to stiffen the chassis them: connecting the subframes with neon lights. 10. us: comfy stock bucket seats on a 9 second street car. them: back-breaking fiberglass racing buckets on a 17- second street car. |
Stupid kids give imports a bad name. Someone needs to do some "genocide" on all the "ricers" of the world.
On another note i beat a mid 90's SVT Cobra Mustang last night. I launched on him, wasn't to good of a launch, around 3000rpms and i boged it after the launch. Anyways we raced up to about 100, 105 mph, before i breaked because of traffic, but he was still 2, 2 and a half car lengths behind me. Normally i don't do that but this guy had i coming, he was screaching the tires at every stop sign, an old guy with "little man syndrome" probably late 40s early50s |

well they may have good straight line et and trap speeds but once you build a domestic to run like that its useless anywhere else.

I hate how the V-8 crowd generalizes the import crowd. Yes, the "scene" is a fucking joke but we have real enthusists. I'm not one to make back handed comments or say "I told you so" but I know all of us have seen those idiots that buy a new trans-am and think they are next to godly-ness. They are ricers with more C.I.
Here is a perfect example- Bobby and I were in Reno a couple weeks ago and this guy that was obviously compinsating had a newer trans am with the loudest exhaust I have ever heard on a street car. He was weaving through traffic trying to catch up with us, almost causing numerous accidents. He pulls up to Bobby and I (we are in Bobby's WRX) and just stares. I told him very sarcastically "nice driving bud", his reply was "get a real car." Let's just say minutes later he did a loser flyby and I had a thumbs down hanging out the window and Bobby had the middle finger. A V-8 friend of mine showed me that little article and I couldnt help but laugh because some of it is true. In a way I enjoy ricers, because they give V-8 guys big heads and then one of them come across one of us, and lose. It just makes it all the more sweet. |
Anyone can be an assclown in any car, regardless of what "scene" they consider themselves a part of.

It's still a funny article, riceboys make me laugh. They come in all vehicles. I was going to eat with one of my friends in my parent's 2000 automatic and stock Outback station wagon and an older fox body Mustang pulls up to us at a light and wants to race. I BEAT HIM.  Then he did a ricer blow by and turned off. Oh my it was too much. Before anyone gives me crap about street racing, I assure you WOT in the Outback is safe most anywhere. :P

there is a difference between ricers and imports. i dont personally take offense to that article.i had to laugh at a few things. but it is pretty dumb publishing it. it makes it seem thats how all v-8 guys picture import guys.
cant we all just get along? i think they might be alittle jealous that we can buy a stock 4 banger (sti), run the a/c, and smoke most v-8's on the road while using a 1/4 of the gass they just did. |
