So I'm "shadowing" my mom a bit to learn more about running a buisness and being a landlord. Anyway this guy just moved out of our apartments and he had a puppy (and a kid). The apartment is NASTY. The entire thing smells like piss and the carpet is almost completely stained from urine and feces underneath all the way through to the concrete underneath and this is after the carpet has been professionally cleaned. I don't understand how people can live like that. This isn't even the worst unit we've had...

ug, at least you had concrete under the carpet. If it was wood (like some houses I've been in), then you gotta replace all that too.

We had one were the parents let the KIDS crap on the floor. That was gross. Or at least pissed maybe it was their cat that crapped. Nasty regardless.

My dad used to do apartment maintenance, and I used to help out during summers. He has some bad horror stories about the tenants. The worst one I can think of is the family who would kill live animals in their 2nd floor apartment, chop them up and freeze them for food. They were Indian or Pakistani or something, my dad wasn't exactly sure. They did this right on the linoleum in the kitchen. The only reason they were discovered and evicted is because they called maintenance for a backed up drain. Well they had been throwing all the animal skin, feathers, and fur through the garbage disposal. My dad had to take apart the plumbing and he found all that shit in the pipes. He asked the tenants and they actually told him what they had been doing. They were promptly tossed.

Ya I really can't believe some people. I can't wait 'til I have my own rentals so I can tell you guys nasty stories at dinner. :P

I can relate. I have to act like a landlord sometimes and pick up after otherp people. We had to evict a guy from one space and the place was FILTHY. There was shit everywhere. As soon as we would walk in the place we'd clog up, eyes started watering and started sneezing. It was terrible. The worst part about it was that we found a MAN THONG.... but it gets better, we later found a PICTURE of the man thong with the guy WEARING IT!!! :huh:

:lol: I didn't take any. I picked up some old nasty apples from the yard today. Some of them had bugs and shit crawling in them. I can take some pics of those if you want. FYI if you see bugs in your apple, don't eat it, it doesn't taste very good. :P

that sucks JC. will the deposit cover the damage? My mother used to tell me stories about what people would do when she used to manage apts.. I still wonder how people can be that nasty..I mean hell I'm not the best house keeper in the world but damn some of these people are just AHHHH
