Dabnabbits! Can you get me in for free? I might be in the bay for another purpose already so "dropping by" teh Point might not be too hard to do.

I wouldn't know how to get you in for free cause I think the track employees do entry tickets.. but, a ticket is only like $10-15/person to get in and you can park right up next to the paddock by T11.

Sweet, my car's already got it's Group B stickers on it... I should be able to roll right onto the track then, right?

Yeah, those guys drive like Stroker Ace...And their fenders are a bit more rigid...I'd love to see your car get hammered on by a camaaaro!

ShawnS 2004-09-07 10:20 PM

I'll be out there, but I wont be driving. Me and the old lady are going to Formula D on our way to Monterey Bay.

sperry 2004-09-08 10:20 AM

It's looking more and more like I'll be working this weekend, so perhaps I won't be out there.

I'll keep you notified Austin... actually if your broke-ass would get a cell phone, I'd just call you when/if I get there.

Ok, well.. the notification will have to take place before ~8am tomorrow, cause that's when we're heading out. If I don't hear anything, I'll just keep an eye out - we'll be in the paddock by T-11! We have the bright yellow car (with a black hood for this event) that'll have a bunch of yellow shirts around it, should be relatively easy to find...

Well, I'm back from Sears Point - we won race #1 on Sunday, and unfortunately DNF'd due to a powertrain problem during race #2 later on that day. Overall a pretty good weekend though, this was MM's first race win with this car! Our driver really stepped up to the plate as he had never driven the course before this weekend.. not bad for a first timer there. :D

sperry 2004-09-14 08:43 AM

Awesome dude! I wish I could have made it out there, but I ended up having to come into work... until 4am Sunday... :x

Do you guys know what caused the DNF?

 Sounds like Matt was right.

No really, you have to know in general. Did a wheel fall off, or did the motor stop running? This isn't corner-carvers... we only need the basics. Perhaps you guys forgot to torque the muffler bearings.

MattR 2004-09-14 09:16 AM

In related/ Unrelated news...I used the Ford Tool for the first time on the STi last night..shit works good

A wheel did not fall off.

Maybe it was those muffler bearings... or a failure in the hydro-dialectric capacitance grease we used...

You're lucky you win races in that thing, or I'd clown on the wing.

...yeah, that's right, me clowing on a wing! :P

Nick Koan 2004-09-15 02:01 PM

f-er took the SECCS stickers off Gary's ex-car.

Oh well, Gary is still cool.

Uh huh... I have downforce numbers on our quite functional wing. Do you? :P

In-car videos from a race at Buttonwillow are posted up on our website now!

MattR 2004-09-16 07:29 AM

Dude, those videos rock! Mike Croutcher is one bad mo-fo! He just hustles those back markers on the first lap....

AtomicLabMonkey 2004-09-16 07:41 AM

When he got spun out the *entire* field went by, including all the slower Camaro-Mustang Challenge cars (they run AI & CM/C on the track at the same time), so the huge cluster of cars at the back of the pack that he goes zooming by are CM/C cars. He is a really good driver though.. riding along is fun. 8)
