Baseball fans:

Angels are now tied with the A's for the AL West Lead! A's are going nowhere fast.

Tonight: Angels v Texas

Then, Angels v. A's, 3 game series to finish the season!!!! It's gonna be a mini-playoff, loser goes to palying golf, winner to the playoffs...

I smell Dodgers v Angels in the World Series 8)

No way. Giants can still knock LA off the Division lead (and if we are lucky, Chicago or Houston can steal the wildcard from the Dodgers).

Not.....gonna....happen..... 8)

I'm cool with the Angels making it, but the Dodgers. They don't deserve shit. ;)

You know what sucks? Baseball. I think I still have a ball from "ball day" with the As.

Here's what's gonna happen:

NL:

LA is gonna crack under the pressure and not only lose the NL-West to the Giants, they'll lose the wild card to the Cubs. Unfortunately, St. Louis will sweep the Giants and the Cubs will beat Atlanta 3-2 in the NLDS. Then the Cubs will feel the curse and lose to St. Louis in the NLCS 4-2, keeping them out of the Series yet again. :(

AL:

A's take 2 out of 3 in the season finale against Anaheim to make it into the playoffs. A's *finally* beat the Yanks, sweeping them no less, in the ALDS, and Boston beats Minnesota 3-1. A's and Boston in the ALCS, Boston taking the series 4-2 and going up against St. Louis for the World Series.

World Series:

Boston comes out hot and wins game 1. St. Louis fights back taking games 2 and 3. Boston wins one more, putting the series to 2-2, but St. Louis wins games 5 and 6, taking the Series.

Of course, I'd like to see the Giants or A's go to the WS, or even better, Cubs vs. Red Sox... but I'll just be happy to see Oakland finally get their game 5 monkey off their back.

Is it just me, or has Scott spent a bit to much time thinking about this? :lol:

If Scott's right I will be impressed...but this is my " Angels rule...A's Suck " thread, so get the hell out SCott... :x

Dude, that FutureVision TV channel puts waaaayy too much stock in the Giants' ability not to choke their way out of the playoffs......the team I hate to love.

I like the A's, but the last time I think they were contenders was when Billy Martin was coaching... :lol: :lol:

Except for '88 when they went to the series and '89 when they won it all. I'm pretty sure those were post-BM days. :P

The A's have been a surprisingly good team over the years. Especially considering their small budget and reliance on young players. They really play "team" baseball... as opposed to the super-star ball that teams like the Yanks play.

In fact that's the same reason I'm a closet Angel's fan... those boys go far with very little to work with!

I'm just really tired of seeing the A's get eliminated in an ALDS game 5... 3 years straight so far... "Oakland Pathethics" indeed! :x

That is correct, a glorious year indeed,,,My whole neighborhood, in SoCal exploded with cheer! Ah yes...

They weren't actually any good in '88 and '89, the rest of the League just sucked worse than they did those years, and they just plain got lucky in '89. :lol: :lol:




I actually kinda like the A's, but it is way to much fun to give hard core fans grief than admit it...
