Yes I like it. I like it alot.

It feels so different from my old car. Which by the way, the dealer is delivering the car to Nate to remove the performance parts. This dealer was great in how they dealt with my trade. They are fixing it first so it can be driven to Nate's (as opposed to towed!). Apparantly the tranny went really bad on them as it was driven down the hill. When I got to the dealer it had a sign on the windshield that read "no trans". They are fixing it today. I'll ask them more specifics about what exactly happened.

I definately give them a thumbs up!

MikeSTI 2004-10-04 01:14 PM

Nice ride Nick :D

glad to hear the dealer didnt sell your car yet

Well I'm in a sort of dilema. I'm not sure what car I want to buy next (I know, tough dilema), after seeing Michaels black Evo VIII with the leather I wanted the MR that's due out soon. But... I've also been a Porschephile since birth and I can buy a used Porsche 993 or 996 with 40K or so miles for roughly the same price. I already know that the Evo will have slightly better performance but in 10 years when the Evo is just another used mitsubishi the Porsche will still be revered as a cool car and will still have a decent resale value. So do I go for the cool for right now barn burner or the cool now and always well handler? Hmmm.....

Do People really Keep cars That long anyways???

I don't think so...only if it's a car worth keeping though...

EVO, not gonna last 10 years (without some rebuilding)

Porsche, Timeless

BOO 2004-10-06 01:20 PM

Yeah I guess whether you own any type of japenese except ofcourse TOYOTA and/or HONDA you would have to REBUILD it.. Speaking of rebuilding doesn't the Porsche fall into that categoty even if it may be Priceless .. Big Time... ??? :P

Porsche Mantance = 3xNormal cost over most cars

Yes sir, porsche will be timeless and it will last. My 964 C4 is now a young 13 years old and the car runs flawless and the paint looks better than my 03 WRX did (not to mention the tranny). As for performance, there are many aftermarket quality parts for porsche that can easily let it achieve the handling and power of the evo.

Oh yeah! This is true also. Oil change - $125 on average.

However, the engine and tranny are extremely reliable on these cars, but point is very well taken. Suspension and brake mods tend to be about the same as subaru, but touch the engine and ouch!. A new replacement motor from the factory for my car ($25,000 min.) Even a used motor from a salvage company will run me $10,000! Fortunately most porsche motors are good for 200,000 plus (don't do the math on $125 oil changes every 3,000 miles)

11 quarts of synthetic.

That's what I thought.. but then again .. German vehicles are like that .. I remember My BMW and I thought that was a lot to pay for repairs.. lol

MattR 2004-10-06 01:34 PM

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that I really like your Porsche...

Evo Mike 2004-10-06 01:38 PM

even though i own an evo... and think its an awesome car... You already have an STi... (a car that is comparable to the EVO in many aspects including the whale tail of a wing) . Anyway, i'd seriously go for the porsche. Although it does require a little more maintenance, it really is timeless.

What model Porsche are you planning to get?
i have a 2 letter 1 digit suggestion.
....GT3
