Well, it looks like Sushi Pier 2 is back open....
But I'd never know if I didn't read about it in the paper. |
There's some news story at 11, on channel 4 about Sushi Pier 2 ... I'll post what I hear.
Edit, 11:15p - news story says there is a group of people taking legal action against Sushi Pier 2, seeking restitution. They are claiming they got sick there. (Somebody (dr.?) was cited as saying people should not return to work for 5-7 days after their last symptoms. I assume that is what they are seeking restitution for.) |
Looks like some of you need to call around and find out which lawyer is handling the class action. :)

I heard the lead-in for this on the news earlier this week, but didn't hear the news story itself. Anyway, we are not surprised ---
RENO, Nev., January 14 Customers of Reno sushi restaurant were victims of e-coli We now know what made several people sick after eating at a Reno sushi restaurant last month. The Centers for Disease Control says customers at Sushi Pier 2 were infected by a form of e-coli bacteria. Officials say the restaurant could have been infected by someone who didn't wash their hands properly and then handled food, or the food could have been contaminated by someone else during the distribution process. Kathleen Hanley of Environmental Health Services says that contaminated food is the most common way people contract e-coli. "People usually get infected after eating food that's contaminated. It could have been contaminated if the food came in that way, or someone who has not washed their hands properly and handled food water or ice." Sushi Pier 2 has hired a food service consultant to monitor food safety at the restaurant. |

It was 19.95 for dinner, so it was kind of expensive too. I don't know if it will be a repeat. |
Yeah, I did not like it all that much, I'll stick with the ones I know...
Let's hit Pier 2 today! Live on the edge! |
