The Snow is melting!

Looks like the snow is slowly going away here in Sparks. Only the big piles are left, and a little in the planters and stuff...

I expect it to be gone by monday or I'm filing a complaint.

There is still quite a bit by my house, but at least if it clears up here at work, it's a small step.

The rain did help clear up the snow, but it left a nice layer of ice:

I just about killed myself in the driveway this morning... I stepped onto the slope and surfed the concrete all the way down to the door of my car! Only by grabbing the mirror and diggin a foot into the snow pile on the lawn was I able to stop, and stay upright. Finding the leverage to open the door and get in the car was difficult. There was virutally zero friction!

At least you didn't eat it.

I ice skated across the complex to get to my car this morning, kind of fun, and yesterday I got to use an umbrella. :D

Sounds like it's time for cleats.

I had an unfortunate incident with cleats when I was a little kid.
I found a really old pair of plastic cleats and I decided that I should run with them on inside, on the lanolium floor. I got out a few long strides then out came my legs from underneath me, and I landed really hard on my bum.

....but cleats on the ice is probably a good thing.
