Tein HAs?

I was thinking of picking up a used set of JDM HAs, anyone have any input?

tysonK 2005-02-14 07:58 PM

How used are they? Lately I've heard that Tein has been needing rebuillds sooner that a lot people had anticipated.

JC 2005-02-14 07:59 PM

I'm not sure they are take-offs off a cut in half GC that was shipped here.

JDM HA's will probably be stiffer than shit. Not that that's a bad thing, if you've got a daily driver, it's just that true JDM coilovers tend to be retarded harsh becuase they're designed for roads that are very well maintained.

Good point, I dunno how well they will perform on the types of roads I want to use them on.

Yeah, they'd probably be too stiff for you JC. But, you could probably have the re-sprung and re-valved pretty cheap. I think Teins can be rebuilt here in the states now.

yes they can be rebuilt in teh USA

HAs are slightly softer than the RAs, but they are still stiff. I have HAs on the Stealth, and it is good on the road, and the track, but it would be marginal for a daily driver.

I have driven to LV in it and that is fine, but the roads down in the bay area make me hit my head on the roof going to Sear's Pt. :ouch:

That said, the damping vs. spring rates are perfectly matched for the vehicle weight on the Stealth. Unless I am mistaken, there is no such thing as JDM vs. US HA, or HRs. There are optional springs available, but they ship the same both places.

If you can get a deal, worst case, you turn around and get your money out.

They want $850 shipped for them.
