I also wanted to say that Mike - it is an F-14.

Anywho, yeah, I thought the pic sucked too - the video was way cooler.

I noticed that as well, but if you read the full text, they mention the f-14 Tomcat.

My dad worked for GE for almost 40 years. He was their lead aircraft engine designer at the Lynn, MA plant and the FA-18 was one of his projects. When I was a kid he used to take me to the plant where they would test the engines. Talk about a Dyno!

What do F/A-18s do at the wheels? I wonder if the navy puts aftermarket exhausts on them after they are delivered :P

I always liked it when durring shuttle launches you hear them mention thottling up to 110%. I figured the pilots must have added NOS while the rocket scientists weren't looking. :)

Um, you're already burning Liquid Hydrogen and Liquid Oxygen... I don't think the N2O is really gonna help much.

zpeed 2005-03-02 03:24 PM

Cool vid and picture. I wish it got sound.

doubleurx 2005-03-02 04:17 PM

Just say "Boom" to yourself right as the cloud appears.
