Winnemucca autox May 14/15

Our own TysonK and John Evans are chairing this event.
Come out & whoop it up at the Winnemucca airport as we compete against the Snake River (Idaho) region to keep our trophy.

Registration is open at myautoevents.com. $60 entry for the weekend (scca member rate) includes Sat. night banquet & a t-shirt. You can also choose to participate one day only (although then your points will not be added into the region's competition against Idaho).

Cutoff for early registration is May 1; after that date, price goes up $10. 40 rooms blocked at the Red Lion Inn.

Nick Koan 2005-04-21 08:56 AM

So, um... do you pay online, or just register and then pay at the event?

MattR 2005-04-21 08:56 AM

I'll be there

dknv 2005-04-21 08:58 AM

Just register, then pay there. Or, you can give a paper form and money to Teri Geck this weekend if you want.

Alright. I've registered online, so I guess I'll just bring money to the event. Thanks for the help Deb.

bruspeed 2005-04-21 11:13 AM

How far is it? Also do you know the prices for rooms?

dknv 2005-04-21 11:30 AM

When I made my Red Lion reservation, it was $59/nite +tax.

There is also another place I thought about staying instead, right across from the Convention Center, and I think I saw it was $35/nite -- but all the rooms available for internet booking were smoking rooms, so I passed. But there are other motels there as well, and probably cheaper than the Red Lion.

Also you may want to consider finding a roommate to share costs.

Distance: the exit is around mile 168 or 170 -- so about 2 hours of driving fast from Reno. (That is not meant to condone speeding -- speeding kills!)

It's not the speeding that kills you, it's the sudden deceleration when you crash. ;)

tysonK 2005-04-25 08:43 PM

anyways.

A little thing I made.

/pedantic phonics monkey mode on

Drive to Winnemucca for your Airport Tarmac Stage!

As an SCCA member, $60 gets you 2 days of driving, a t-shirt, and dinner! $70 for non-members.

Red Lion Hotel has a small block of rooms so act fast. 1-800-633-6435.

Site opens at 7 am on both days so be there early for tech and registration!

Grammar nitpicking aside, good idea Tyson. And that would be Mr. Speed, with Mr. Loud co-driving. ;)

thanks Dude it was a rough draft.

ha!

fixed

I like the caps

Well its that time of the year again already, I wish I had more time & $$ to attend more autox events down in the reno area. I wasn't that good at driving my car last year that SM class is tough but its all about having fun for me. Dean helped me with some driving tips last year that was cool and Thanks for the heads up I registered on line. See you all up here in Winnemucca. I'll be sporting my SECCS hoodie.

well I'm putting the shirt order in on friday so those people will just lose out.

I'm not ordering a ton of extras.

dknv 2005-05-10 08:35 AM

We are seeing a low pre-registration turnout for Winnemucca; 64 people as of today, 40 from Reno, 23 from Snake River, 1 Arizona entry. I hope we have more entries show up between now & Saturday!

MattR 2005-05-10 09:00 AM

I am not going to make Winnemucca now. Debbie, sorry, I can't haul your tires.

Sorry you won't be there - we'll miss you. No worries about the tires.

What does this mean for the stripper car show down? Scott wins by default?

Scott, are you still going to rent one anyway?

tysonK 2005-05-12 08:37 PM

Looks like good weather to be had this weekend!

I'm hoping to leave at 11am with the t-Shirts!

I might have to leave later though if they don't finish them up on time, which will leave John without my help for a little while setting up cones and the like.

Dean 2005-05-12 09:48 PM

Tyson, if they aren't done, some of us could probably pick them up.

I'll probably head out around 4PM from downtown if they are that late.

Well Kevin, Scott and Nick are leaving around 5-6pm.

I don't know when you and Debbie are leaving.

John wanted the shirts in Winnemucca before 4pm for people that show up to register and walk the track. Of course I don't see that it's a huge deal if everyone gets their shirts Sat Morning as opposed to having them for some people Friday night.

Anyways I'll call you guys tommorow Morning when I have all the Facts from the printers.
