Opinion on paint color

I'm building a 1971 Super Beetle and I'm trying to decide on a color for it. If interested, here is a link to my progress page- http://www.superbeetlesonly.com/foru...album&album=40

I've narrowed it down to two. Either the 2005 Subaru Crystal Grey or the 2005 Mitsubishi Graphite Grey Pearl. Let me know which one you like and why (I'm expecting bias results :). I'm torn!

Here is the Mitsu GGP

Here is the Sooby CG (The darker "earthy" grey)

I honestly like the Graphite Grey Pearl better, but I think the Crystal Grey might look better on the bug. What a big help I am?

MattR 2005-04-28 08:56 PM

I think Creystal Grey would look cooler on the bug, with some black wheels.

I'd do the Mitsu gray. I dig darker grays, especially metallics.

That color is awesome! Is this the same car that went into the guard rail last summer?

Kevin M 2005-04-28 09:21 PM

No, I don't think so. Just as ricy though.

Nick Koan 2005-04-28 09:22 PM

Poll added.

And I voted for the Mitsubishi color.

tysonK 2005-04-28 09:39 PM

wow no subaru love yet, with 5 votes.

ha! our board sucks.

Kevin M 2005-04-28 09:42 PM

As Subaru enthusiasts, it is our duty not to recommend Subaru paint to fellow car lovers. :p

Yes, it is. When he nerfed it into the guradrail driving like a jackass at Hammy, though (the *only* incident), it had a different kit, and stock wheels. Still has a white engine bay, lol.

Kevin M 2005-04-28 10:36 PM

Ah, I didn't know dickhole there was affiliated with RallySport.

I prefer the Mitsu grey as well, the CGM just doesn't do much for me; it should have either replaced the PSMand been the only silver shade, or they should have kept PSM and done 86F, Steel Blue Mica, which is the best color ever ;)

Libila 2005-04-29 04:01 AM

Thanks for the responses so far and for adding the poll. Good morning everyone :)

EDIT- I wanted to add that the Porsche 914 wheels (that I need to go pick up) are black with a silver lip. That may help some of you make your decision.

BOO 2005-04-29 08:52 AM

+1 on the Mitsu color ;)

Mitsu paint isn't really all that much better! :p Naturally I voted for cgm :D

Libila 2005-04-30 08:08 AM

I'm leaning more toward the Graphite Grey Pearl because it's not a color you would often see.
