LGT 2.5 vs. WRX 2.0

I was wondering why I haven't seen too many Legacy GT 2.5 swapped into other platforms. One would think that the LGT 2.5 would be cheaper than a STI motor. Are the LGT motors not compatible with the other platforms? What is the difference in internals between the LGT and the STI? Just wondering. :D

The main differences between the STi and the LGT motors is the intake manifold, intercooler, turbo and throttle body. All bolt on stuff, really.

Since the rest of the long block is essentially the same, I think it would cost as much to buy from Subaru.

The LGT has AVCS which means the wiring is more complicated than a WRX 2.0l and hence more expensive. Also I hear the LGT ECU controls more shit which adds still more wiring.

I saw your RS up on blocks today by my work, you break something?

But, If you could find a wrecked LGT, you could probably buy the drivetrain cheaper, and in less than demand than an Sti. Street cred is a bitch.

Ya if you find one. The 2.5 out of the FXT is an easier swap. You'd be better off with that.

Are you planning on wrecking your parents car, then trying to buy the drivetrain?

HAHAHA! Holy "S"! That might not be such a bad idea. except they got the LAME automatic w/sportshift thingy. Kinda cool, but the novelty wears off. Oh yeah, Regal Blue. Very nice car though.
