Street Racing...owned.

I was talking to my friend who goes to the street races and she said the cops came and blocked everyone in and wrote like 50 tickets. I glanced at the street racing board and someone said it was something like 96 tickets, lmao tools. Supposedly it's gonna be on the news tonight.

SlickNick112 2005-08-01 09:30 PM

I think that I just missed that the other night. I was driving back from a party late Saturday night, that would have sucked to get caught up in that. That's just around the corner from my house and right in front of my Gym.

MattR 2005-08-01 09:42 PM

wow! Some brilliant discussion over at nolimits as always...

I see that Duckie is on there talking about recieving a ticket...I wonder if its the same duckie with the SVX over here at seccs...hmmm.

Everyone's a fucking victim, boohoo.

nightwalker 2005-08-02 10:14 AM

People still street race?

JonnydaJibba 2005-08-02 10:25 AM

That is funny. I didn't know people still went there.

Libila 2005-08-02 01:32 PM

How many Duckies with an SVX can there be?

Wow, the general banter and level of intelligence on no limit is really spectacular. I think I lost a few I.Q. points just reading that. If life were fair, it would be physically painful being as stupid as some of those people come off!!

I love the people talking about contacting the NAACP to fight for their right to gather peacefully.

Those fuckers aren't having a sit-in, they're participating in illegal street races! They know it, the cops know it, and the judge and jury know it. Gimme a break.

And the BS about "why don't the cops fight real crime instead of hassling us" and "they don't hassle old guys w/ their hot rods". Guess what genius... street racing *is* a "real" crime... it *kills* people. Those hot-rod guys *are* just hanging out with their cars... they aren't going to tear-ass in a line of 40 cars, then stop somewhere and race... they're just going to eat some burgers, look at some carburators, then go home and hump their fat wives. The next time one of those street racing 16yo idiots kills themselves, those guys should all go back and re-read those threads and figure out the real reason the cops are out there.

That's some funny shit there. Until of course, the day comes we're not as young as we use to be and we do the samething ourselves.

I hope I own a '41 Willy with a blown big block and some fat ass meats tucked under the ass end. Oh yeah, and a flame piant job LOL.

we already do that but replace carburators with turbos and fat wives with hopefully, hot girlfriends/wives.

My goal in life is to eventually be one of those guys too. 'Cept I'll still have a bugeye WRX instead of a Willy's. But I will add the flame paint job by then I hope.

I heard on the radio on the way home last night that the sheriff's dept is getting $450,000 from the state to crack down on "street racing". Included in that budget is training for a special task force to help them recognise "street racing cars" and the types of illegal modifications that can be done to them.

I hope this doesn't turn into something annoying for those of us who save it for autocross and track days.

JC 2005-08-04 08:53 AM

Just get a license plate frame that says I hate street racers.

Don't worry, it will.

That must be the program where officers are instructed to pull over anyone with an unpainted bodykit, neon, LED washer nozzles, and "tucked" 19's. You know real performance shit that makes you a "mad tyte" street racer.

Plus if they pop our hoods (not that it's a big issue in NV to begin with) I guarentee the stuff that program will teach them will be useless in decifering what's stock and what's not on a turbo Subaru... our motor's are quite a bit different looking than anything you see in other imports. 'Course, that might work against us... "Holy damn son! You install a turbine in this thing or what? And what's with the extra radiator!?" I think I'm gonna get a giant plastic cover that says "HEMI" just to be safe.

Since most of us have wheels as our most noticeable mods, I think we'll be fine, as long as we save our jackassery for the track.

And no JC, I've got no plans for flames in the near future.

I think we should help them out and make a list of common street racer "mods" and send it to the Reno PD.

I'll add excessively large muffler attached to 1.3" piping and altezzas.

ACKKK my WRX has altezza's. I know I know, they are cheesy, but they were on the car when I bought it.

Would rather spend money on more important thinks like Ecutec, exhaust, beer. Priorities ya know.

JonnydaJibba 2005-08-05 06:55 AM

I think we should warn the Reno PD about the dudes who drive the cars with no front or back bumper, no hood and the 12" mufflers. Well then again those cars stick out like a giraffe in Antartica.

nightwalker 2005-08-05 09:21 PM

What you guys are talking about has me wondering. I'm from good ol Cali, you know, where if you drive a lowered import you're automatically a "street racer" and the first thing out of a cop's mouth is "Pop your hood". So I'm use to getting pulled over and hassled all the time. That and I also know what they're looking for (legal and illegal)

But Nevada is a whole different world it seems. Anyone point me in the right direction as to where I can find out what is or is not legal? ...or just tell me? Thanks.

M3n2c3 2005-08-05 09:28 PM

I'm curious as well, since I'm just getting into tuning my RS. How far is "street legal?"
