Political quiz I thought this had come up on the board before, but I searched and couldn't find anything. Are you a hardcore populist libertarian with moderate conservative leanings? A moderately liberal authoritarian? Find out for sure... http://www.ontheissues.org/quizeng/XPolitics/start.asp |

I'm a "Moderate Libertarian Liberal"... http://www.ontheissues.org/quizeng/map/s060_050.gif We should use something like this instead of voting. Just do a census every 4 years where everyone answers a bunch of questions about how they want the country run, then all the candidate's scores are matched against the US average, and the closest candidate wins. |

http://www.ontheissues.org/quizeng/map/s060_040.gif Though, I've always thought of myself as slightly more libertarian then this suggests. |

Although it looks like they have a pretty straightforward graph. From what I was reading in the explaination I think this graph reflects my personal score more than my Economic score, but whever. I give more thought to free trade than abortion. http://www.ontheissues.org/quizeng/map/s070_050.gif |

Interesting.. so far JC is the only one completely out of the Moderate box. :) |

I think I've been the opposite of most people in the progression of my political leanings. I used to be ridiculously conservative when I was younger, say in high school.. now I've loosened up a lot and am pretty much in the middle in my old age. I guess that's the real world effect too, ideals from either the right or left get beaten out of you. :) |

1 Attachment(s) Cool, that's an interesting survey, with some good assumptions that make sense...here's my graph, good to see I'm a card-carrying member of the Libertarian party! I scored as a "Moderate Libertarian" |

I'm still trying to wrap my head around what a "populist" would be. |

Hmmm, a Moderate Populist Conservative? Actually, I found that quiz to be pretty biased towards Liberal-Libertarian. The wording and types of questions, along with the analysis style and undertones suggest that they weren't looking for answers to open questions. They use hot-button issues, but fail to include options on important details. Some of the giveaways were: "Abortion is a Woman's Right" vs. taking both sides in the question, such as "Abortion: Woman's Right or Premeditated Murder?" "Reduce use of coal, oil, & nuclear energy" --- apples and oranges, I say. Oil and coal have nothing in common with nucs except hot water! "Immigration Helps Our Economy - Encourage It" --- What about legal immigration + assimilation vs. illegal/subversive activity? Not fooled. |
