Where to get oil changed in Reno?

Hello folks:

I have a customer who has an '05 STi.
She is asking where to get the oil changed in the Reno area.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Paul

Answer depends on age, marital status, etc... :)

Dibs if she is over 30, and single...

OH DEAR GOD DON'T SEND HER TO JIFFY LUBE!

We here at Nissan have a decent price for a regular LOF, at 29.99 + tax, if she doesn't want synthetic oil. Mobil 1 is around 50 bucks out the door. Feel free to tell her to ask for me if you send her this way. (cory)

Otherwise, I say go to the dealer, or do it herself...

I dunno, anywhere? At least my answer was better then Deans.

Haha sweet avatar Cory.

I'm offering to change her oil if if she meets the criteria. What's wrong with that? You just wish you had thought of it. :P

Dean's Lube shop!

I just take mine to the dealer, with a 5qt bottle of Mobil1 synthetic (I dunno about Lithia, but Michael Hohl's uses Pennzoil or some such). I figure they're less likely to screw it up or ask me stupid questions about the car.

I avoid Jiffy Lube based on personal experience - they broke the bolt/nut housings on my Vision's intake filter box during one visit and didn't tell me, and then at the next visit tried to tell me that, "someone had stripped the bolt fitment," and they couldn't change the air filter. I had to dremel chunks of plastic off to be able to grab the nuts with a wrench and get the bolts out. Turned into a one-hour filter change.

I haven't had anybody else change my oil since I worked at a Toyota dealer and one of the techs was so bored he asked me if he could change my oil. (not a euphemism!)

The chevron at the corner of South Virginia and Longley. One of our members works there. Just make sure she asks them to replace the crush washer.

I don't think Dr Funk works there anymore. When I picked up his RS wheels last month he was packing to move to North Carolina (I think).

Paul@dbtuned 2006-03-20 08:22 PM

Well, you folks never let me down, :)

I knew all I had to do was mention the fact that she was female.

I went to Joe Bob's Chicken Joint tonight, (insert joke about black dudes and fried chicken here) and Saw his RS there in the side lot at Winner's corner.

Looks like he's still around to me!

I'm sorry to say, I've gone into Lithia Subaru Reno with my 5 qts of Mobil1 for them to use - and I tell them EXACTLY what I want done - and it's happened that I go to pick up the car and find the Mobil1 container still in the car!

Had to have them do a re-do. :-(

(Sometimes the service guys don't seem to listen, and I think it's because I'm female  ).

I like fried chicken. Does that mean I'm black too?

Wow. Last time I took mine to Michael Hohl's, I forgot to tell them that I had my Mobil1 sitting in the passenger seat, and the tech actually came back to the waiting area to ask if that was what I wanted to use! Lucky me :)

No, that means your white trash. :P

Although I admit, Jiffy Lube isnt the best in the world, and who could pass up Dean's offer or Cory's offer. But since I was the manager of a q-Lube the predecessor of Jiffy lube for over 6 yrs. If your in a hurry, they work just fine. They are just programmed to over sell, and its hard to get anyone making 6.50 an hour to give a crap about oil spilled on your engine or frame. I will admit, that I use JL when I am in a hurry, otherwise, I do it myself, or I call one of my Dealership buddies, and they let me use their rack.
